Wu Song Capital is a private investment office that backs promising startups across Asia, blending venture capital with hands-on incubation. In addition to working with startups, we are actively involved in mergers and acquisitions, identifying and structuring strategic deals that drive long-term growth.

Unlike traditional finance roles, our work is fast-paced, immersive, and deeply entrepreneurial. This internship provides exposure to both the investment and operational aspects of building businesses. Interns will work directly with our founder a rare opportunity that comes with high expectations and a steep learning curve.

Job Description

As an Intern at Wu Song Capital, you will be able to immerse yourself in the dynamic world of early-stage investing. Unlike investment banking and other financial analysts who focus on modelling and deal execution, WSC’s internship is less structured and offers a unique chance to work directly with business owners, finding deals and evaluating business ideas.

Role Overview

Interns are on the front lines of finding and screening deals. You are expected to bring an ambitious, sales-like mentality to this task, oftentimes sourcing potential deals by reaching out to companies and entrepreneurs to set up meetings. In addition, like other financial analysts, support all aspects of a deal, from due diligence to modelling and execution. With due diligence, they produce the initial analytics that leads a firm to pursue or reject a deal.

Key Responsibilities

• Market Research & Due Diligence – Analyse industries, review business models, and assess financials to identify viable investment opportunities
• Scouting & Sourcing – Identify high-potential startups and M&A opportunities, conduct outreach, and build relationships with founders
• Investment Process Support – Assist in preparing investment memos, presentations, and internal reports for decision-making
• Travel & Startup Immersion – Work remotely while based in Singapore, with opportunities for travel across Asia for market research and business engagements

Job Requirements

This is not a typical finance internship. We seek individuals who are: 

• Entrepreneurial & Resourceful – Passionate about startups, able to take initiative, and comfortable working in unstructured environments
• Impact-Driven – Willing to engage with social initiatives and understand the broader implications of investments
• Finance-Savvy – A background in finance, economics, or business is essential. Prior experience in VC, PE, IB, or consulting is a plus
• Adaptable & Independent – Comfortable working remotely and prepared to travel when necessary
• Resilient & Hardworking – Able to work directly with our founder, meeting high expectations and navigating a demanding learning environment

Duration and Compensation

• Minimum Commitment: 6-months
• Compensation: $800/month
