Job Description
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for construction projects in Malaysia.
- Conduct comprehensive cost analysis to ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints and comply with local regulations.
- Conduct taking off, site valuations with subcontractors and with consultants
- Negotiate with suppliers , subcontractors, and vendors to obtain competitive prices and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Prepare and present financial forecasts, and cost variance analysis to senior management when needed.
- Monitor projects expenses, including materials, labor and subcontractors costs, and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Collaborate closely with Contract Manager, and procurement teams to streamline project costs and schedules
- Evaluate contract documents, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies to protect project interests.
- Conduct regular site visits to access progress, verify quantities, and address any cost related issues.
Job Requirements
- Advanced Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry in Malaysia.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Sound knowledge of local construction regulations, practices and market conditions in Malaysia.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationship with stakeholders.
- Professional certification (e.g IQSSL, RISM) is preferred.
- Proficiency in English & Chinese is an added advantage.
