Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed bills of quantities (BOQ), take-offs and cost estimates for interior fit-outs, joinery, furnishings and finishes.
• Produce tender documents, evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, and recommend award.
• Prepare and issue variation orders; assess and negotiate variations and claims with clients and subcontractors.
• Monitor project costs, cashflow forecasting and cost-to-complete; issue regular cost reports to management.
• Measure progress on-site, certify interim valuations, prepare payment applications and assess contractor claims.
• Maintain and update cost databases and material/product rate libraries.
• Review drawings and specifications to identify cost risks and value-engineering opportunities; collaborate with design and procurement teams to optimize solutions.
• Ensure contractual compliance and maintain accurate commercial records, correspondence and contract documentation.
• Assist in final account settlement and prepare post-completion cost analysis.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to resolve commercial and technical issues.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in quantity surveying for interior fit-outs, joinery or M&E fit-out projects preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in cost estimating and measurement software (e.g., Cubicost, CostX, QS software) and MS Excel.
• Knowledge of tendering procedures, contract administration and valuation methods.
• Basic understanding of interior materials, joinery, finishes, and construction methods.

Competencies:

• Strong numerical, analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
• Good negotiation and commercial awareness.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English; Bahasa Malaysia preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Team-player with good stakeholder management skills.
