Job Summary

Leads a team with overall responsibility for managing the reserving, valuation, pricing or risk management process for the assigned portfolio and provides support and recommendations to the relevant chief actuary, actuarial business partners or risk officer, including insights into risks, underlying performance and implications for the business.

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities

  • Lead team in providing professional actuarial services to actuarial management and business partners including insights into underlying performance and business implications on topics with a moderate level of complexity.
  • Perform complex statistical analyses, model, monitor and analyze data and develop complex models or programs for model building and analyses; interpret results of models and analyses to support business decision making.
  • Support analyses related to activities outside of normal responsibilities. Provide professional actuarial support and advice to actuarial business partners including insights into underlying performance and implications for the business.
  • Manage the flow and quality of relevant actuarial data to ensure robust output.
  • Support development of risk based capital models and calibration and parameterization activities.
  • Ensure that processes and standards are consistent with internal actuarial policies; lead the improvement of systems and processes in own area.
  • Responsible for training, mentoring and professional development of actuarial staff under supervision.
