Job Description

Position Responsibilities

Contract Management:

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and proofreading a variety of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, policies, and correspondence.
  • Manage and maintain the company's contract management system, ensuring all contracts are properly filed, tracked, and renewed/terminated as required.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g.Supply-Chain, GRC, People & Culture, Finance) to facilitate contract execution and compliance.

Legal Research & Analysis:

  • Conduct legal research on various topics, including corporate law, commercial law, intellectual property, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Summarize legal findings and provide clear, concise reports to the legal team/management
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the company's industry and operations.

Administrative & Operational Support:

  • Manage and organize legal department files, both physical and electronic, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes for legal department meetings and other relevant discussions.
  • Process invoices, manage expenses, and assist with budget tracking for the legal department.
  • Act as a liaison between the legal department and other internal departments, as well as external parties (e.g., law firms, government agencies).
  • Assist in the onboarding and training of new legal team members.
  • Handle confidential information with utmost discretion and integrity.

Project Management:

  • Assist in managing legal projects, including tracking deadlines, coordinating tasks, and ensuring timely completion.
  • Implement and improve legal department processes and workflows to enhance efficiency.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB);
  • Called to the Bar;
  • Proven experience in contract management and corporate governance;
  • Strong understanding of Malaysian legal principles and regulations;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a legal assistant in a law firm.
  • Experience with Corporate practice is preferred.
