Job Description

Position Responsibilities

To own and govern the company’s fixed asset management framework, ensuring strong internal controls, accurate financial reporting, audit readiness, and disciplined asset lifecycle management across the organisation.

Asset Governance & Policy Ownership

  • Own and maintain group-wide asset management policies, SOPs, and approval matrices.
  • Define capitalisation thresholds, asset classes, useful lives, tagging standards, and disposalrules.
  • Enforce compliance across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders.

Control Authority & Risk Management

  • Act as control owner for fixed assets, with authority to block or escalate non-compliantcapitalisation, transfers, or disposals.
  • Review exceptions, override requests, and control breaches; escalate material risks to Finance Controller / CFO.
  • Design proportionate controls based on asset value and risk.

Physical Verification & Custody Oversight

  • Define and govern asset verification strategy (cycle counts, annual stocktakes).
  • Own verification sign-off, exception reporting, and remediation tracking.
  • Ensure clear accountability between Finance (records & governance) and Ops (physicalcustody).

Capex & Asset Lifecycle Oversight

  • Oversee capex-to-asset conversion and CIP aging.
  • Review asset disposal, scrapping, and write-off recommendations, balancing NBV, V, condition,and commercial reality.
  • Provide decision support to Finance leadership on asset lifecycle matters.

Audit & Regulatory Compliance

  • Act as primary owner for fixed asset audit engagements.
  • Ensure audit readiness, resolve findings, and prevent repeat issues.
  • Ensure compliance with MFRS / IFRS and internal governance standards.

Systems & Data Ownership

  • Act as data owner for asset master data within ERP systems.
  • Define mandatory fields, validation rules, and asset-related workflows.
  • Partner with IT and Process teams to strengthen system-enabled controls.

People & Stakeholder Management

  • Review and guide work performed by Fixed Asset Executives.
  • Act as Finance point of contact for asset-related matters across the business.
  • Drive asset management discipline through clear communication and enforcement.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional qualification (ACCA / CPA / MIA) preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of experience in fixed asset accounting, governance, or controllership roles.
  • Strong experience managing assets in multi-site or decentralised operations.
  • Proven ability to enforce controls and manage cross-functional stakeholders.
  • ERP ownership experience (NetSuite or equivalent).
