Straits Design Sdn Bhd

Straits Design Sdn Bhd came into the Malaysian Lighting market in 1990 with our Belgian partner, Schreder S.A. Building on Schreder’s nearly 100 years of experience in Public Lighting and Product Research and Development, Straits Design was tasked with a mission to help uplift the local lighting industry with a strong local presence. So as to be as close to our customers as possible, transferring technology and know-how in real time and locally manufacturing products for faster delivery and service. We are proud to sit on some of Malaysian’s Standards and specification writing Boards.

Among some of our earlier projects are lighting of KLIA (1997), SMART Tunnel (2004), National Mosque and most of Taman Tasik Perdana (2002), Tanjung Pelepas Port (1999) and Penchala Tunnel (2003). The migration of lighting system to LED won us retrofit projects, among which are retrofit of Led lanterns in Penang (2017), Butterworth Outer Ring Road (2023) and the ongoing Penang Second Bridge (2024)

As we enter into our 34th year, we continue to seek competent staff in the following areas to join us in our journey to deliver lighting systems that are safe, comfortable, energy sufficient and sustainable.
