Software engineers at Move Travel focuses on delivering secure, scalable solutions that are integrated with our large scale internal and external applications. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, building, and optimising applications that power our platform and enhance our customer experience.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of technical aspects of our global technology infrastructure, ensuring that the platform is being used to its fullest potential.  

• Design and build applications tailored to our customers’ needs.

• Review and monitor current engineering works, as well as previously constructed applications, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

• Keep security, performance and scalability as principles in your day to decisions and contributions.

• Participate and contribute in a team practicing agile scrum. Share and document knowledge as part of your workflow.

• Provide support for platform-related issues, triaging and fixing problems reported by other teams.

• Partner with Product and UX teams to design, implement, and deploy innovative solutions that enhance the user experience.

• Serve as a key member of our engineering team, contributing to the establishment of best engineering practices.

• Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the team. Experiment and continuously explore new and emerging technologies and bring that perspective on how it can help the team

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience 3+ years of related software engineering experience

• Experience in web application development using the following languages and framework: Java (Spring Boot); Python; Javascript Stack (Node.js/React);

• Solid understanding of Git. Branching strategies, merging strategies and best practices

• Strong proficiency in Data Structures & Algorithms, problem-solving aptitude

• Deep understanding of the challenges associated with operating large-scale production systems with experience in continuous integration, test automation, and monitoring

• Solid understanding of OOP and REST architecture, with practical experience in RESTful implementations

• Exceptional track record in delivering high-quality engineering solutions across various technology stacks.

• You have knowledge on cloud platforms, virtualisation platforms and the relevant products: GCP, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.

• Knowledge/experience with Application Logging, Monitoring, Performance Management such as Cloud Logging, Prometheus, Grafana.

• Experience with performance testing and load testing tools.
