Job Description

Job Summary

As a Production Operator (Packaging), you will support daily packaging operations by preparing materials, operating packaging equipment, and ensuring that finished goods are packed accurately, safely, and according to defined quality standards and work instructions. You will help maintain an organized, efficient workstation and work closely with the shift leader and other teams to achieve daily output targets.  

Tasks

  • Assemble packaging materials (e.g., boxes, inserts/forms, anti-static bags) according to order requirements. 
  • Perform visual inspection of finished goods prior to packaging to ensure there are no defects. 
  • Verify that all required information is correct before sealing/boxing, including quantity, part number, variant, and serial number (where applicable). 
  • Operate packaging equipment and tools in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety requirements. 
  • Ensure packaging equipment, tools, and machines are in good working condition and ready for daily operations; immediately report any faults, damage, abnormalities, or operational issues to the supervisor/shift leader. 
  • Prepare and set up the workstation before starting work to ensure all required materials, equipment, and documents are available (including golden samples, where applicable). 
  • Ensure that the latest and correct documents are available at the workstation, including labels, drawings, work instructions, packaging specifications, and other relevant documents. 
  • Set up and adjust the sealing machine (or other packaging equipment) according to the specific requirements of each order. 
  • Monitor and replenish daily essential packaging and workstation supplies to ensure smooth operations (e.g., gloves, labels, paper, cutters, stationery, and other consumables). 
  • Inform the supervisor/shift leader in advance of any expected shortages of packaging materials, consumables, or equipment that may impact operations. 
  • Ensure the workstation is organized and prepared for the next order/changeover to minimize downtime and support continuous operations. 
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the packaging area in line with 5S standards and comply with all safety and quality requirements. 
  • Report any non-conformances, deviations from SOP, or material shortages promptly to the shift leader. 
  • Work collaboratively with Quality, Production, and Warehouse teams to meet daily output and service targets. 
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor/shift leader. 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum SPM / Certificate in Manufacturing, Production, or related field. 
  • Preferably 1–2 years of experience in packaging, assembly, or a manufacturing line environment (fresh candidates may be considered depending on suitability). 
  • Ability to read production orders, packaging instructions, and product and work specifications. 
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, Monday to Saturday, and overtime when required. 
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Basic math skills (counting, simple calculations, quantity verification). 
  • Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia; basic English is an advantage.
