Bukku is a well-funded and fast growing software company running the most-loved cloud accounting software currently being used by more than 20k SMEs in the country.

As we scale and head towards going regional, we’re looking for a sharp and driven Senior Accounts & Finance Executive to own our day-to-day accounting and grow into a broader finance role. You’ll start with a strong accounting focus, but as we automate the manual, repetitive parts of the job, your role will progressively shift towards finance — budgeting, analysis, forecasting, and partnering with the business to drive smart decisions. Responsibilities

• Manage the full set of accounts, including AP/AR, general ledger, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Handle statutory compliance, tax matters, and liaise with auditors, tax agents, and the company secretary.
• Manage cash flow, payments, and day-to-day treasury matters.
• Continuously improve and automate accounting processes — we believe routine accounting should be done by machines, not humans.
• Progress towards finance: assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business partnering as the role evolves.
• Support management with ad-hoc financial analysis and decision-making.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (professional qualification such as ACCA / CIMA / CPA is a strong plus).
• Minimum 3 - 5 years of relevant working experience in accounting / finance. Experience in a startup, tech, or software company is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of full-set accounts and Malaysian statutory and tax requirements.
• Tech savvy and comfortable with cloud accounting software and automation tools (bonus points if you’ve used Bukku!).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills in English; another language (Malay or Chinese) is a plus.
