Job Description

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing robust data solutions that support business intelligence and analytics needs. This role requires both technical expertise and leadership skills to guide a team of data engineers in building scalable data architectures, ETL pipelines, and business rule transformations. The ideal candidate is adept in data integration, processing, and visualization, ensuring the delivery of reliable and high-quality data systems.

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers within assigned projects.
• Design and implement data architectures such as Data Warehouses and Data Lakes.
• Collaborate with business users to analyze and translate business rules into functional specifications and data mapping documents.
• Oversee and participate in the development of data ingestion, integration, and extraction pipelines.
• Produce clear documentation outlining business logic and transformation processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in collaboration with end users.
• Ensure adherence to established data engineering standards, best practices, and governance processes.

Job Requirements

• Min. 4 years of hands-on experience in data engineering 
• Prior experience engaging directly with clients or business stakeholders in solution delivery or project discussions.
• Proven experience in ETL design, mapping, and development following standard methodologies.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and database design principles.
• In-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and architecture design.
• Hands-on experience with one or more major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, Snowflake, Databricks).
• Familiarity with Big Data querying tools such as Hive and Hue.
• Experience with ETL tools such as Talend is an advantage.
• Additional skills such as Python programming, Data APIs, handling of unstructured data, and familiarity with the Hadoop ecosystem are preferred.
