Job Description

The Retail eCommerce Merchandise buyer is responsible for selecting and merchandising a range of products to sell on eCommerce sites. Reviews success of previous orders to determine extent to which inventory should be replenished. As a Merchandise Buyer researches new trends or advances in product lines to make appropriate buying decisions.

  •  R&D Online Business merchandize categories selection.
  •  Understand consumers’ needs and wants, analyze consumers evolving shopping behaviour between online and offline markets and buying patterns to increase sales and market share, for both online & offline markets. 
  •  Plan and analysing current and past sales figures and current trends to anticipate future trends to make insightful buying decisions. 
  •  Keep abreast with market/customer trends and respond appropriately.  
  •  Sourcing supplier from local and overseas through and all e-commerce platform. 
  •  Source and negotiate retail merchandise, trends and initiatives liaise supplier to provide best price to reduce cost and increase margin.
  •  Forge relationships with suppliers and negotiate buying prices, discount terms and transportation arrangements.
  •  Profit margin monitoring and manage inventory levels by planning new buying and replenishment.
  •  Project future buys by analyzing past sales data and sell-through rates.
  •  Recommend mark-up or down rates and merchandise selling prices to ensure optimal sell through rates.
  •  Analyst report for product trend and competitor price range

Job Requirements

  •  Experience in CRM, CMS is added advantage
  •  Possess a minimum Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent
  •  Minimum 1 year working experience in related retail merchandise fields. 
  •  Good communication skills in Mandarin & English (both written and spoken).
  •  Good people management skills
  •  Strong industry knowledge, market trend and logistics requirements
  •  Proven ability to meet, if not exceed, sales targets
  •  Aggressive, dynamic, result-oriented and strong achievement motivation
  •  High Integrity, target focused and able to work with minimum supervision
