About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Assistant Manager / Manager – Accounting to lead our accounting team and oversee the Company's financial operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both strategic planning and operational execution while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and driving continuous process improvements.

You will play a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, internal controls, and supporting management in making sound business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Accounts Department and supervise the accounting team.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management reports and financial analysis.
  • Manage cash flow, budgeting, and financial planning.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, credit control, and risk management functions.
  • Liaise with bankers on banking facilities and related matters.
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax agents, lawyers, and relevant government authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory reporting, taxation, and legislative requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvements in accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Support operational departments by providing financial insights and guidance.
  • Undertake any special projects or assignments assigned by Management.

Added Advantage

  • Experience handling SST, e-Invoicing, Stamp Duty, Related Party Transactions (RPT), and dealing with local authorities.
  • Experience in implementing internal controls and process improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Professional Accountancy qualification.
  • Member of MIA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting body.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of working experience in a trading, retail, or service environment.
  • Experience leading and supervising an accounting team.
  • Strong knowledge of computerized accounting systems (e.g. Sage 300).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with management and cross-functional departments.
  • Independent, responsible, and able to perform under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
