About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Full Stack Developer Intern to join our Technology / Product Development team and work closely with our main developer/programmer on several sub-projects within the Healix ecosystem.
This role is suitable for students who want to gain practical experience in both frontend and backend development, while learning how real-world healthcare technology products are designed, developed, tested, and maintained.
The intern will not be expected to independently manage the entire platform. Instead, you will work under the guidance of the main developer and contribute to specific modules, features, mini-projects, testing, bug fixes, and technical improvements.
This is a hands-on internship with opportunities to work on actual product development rather than purely academic exercises.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full Stack Development
- Assist the main developer in developing new features and modules.
- Work on assigned frontend and backend sub-projects.
- Develop simple user interfaces based on approved requirements and designs.
- Assist in developing and integrating APIs.
- Work with databases and backend services.
- Modify and improve existing system functionality.
- Assist in connecting frontend components with backend APIs.
2. Sub-Project Development
The intern may be assigned several smaller development projects throughout the internship.
Examples may include:
- Internal management tools
- Dashboard components
- Administrative modules
- Patient-facing features
- Healthcare-related utilities
- Reporting modules
- Notification features
- Data-entry modules
- API integrations
- Supporting tools for internal teams
Each project will have a defined scope, requirements, timeline, and expected deliverables.
3. Bug Fixing & Troubleshooting
- Assist in identifying and resolving software bugs.
- Perform basic debugging and troubleshooting.
- Reproduce reported issues and document findings.
- Test fixes before deployment.
- Assist the main developer in investigating technical issues.
- Report bugs clearly with steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.
4. Testing & Quality Assurance
- Conduct functional testing of assigned features.
- Perform basic frontend and backend testing.
- Test different user scenarios.
- Assist with regression testing after system updates.
- Identify UI/UX or functional issues.
- Document testing results and outstanding issues.
5. Code Management
- Follow the team's coding standards and development practices.
- Use Git for version control.
- Create and manage development branches under supervision.
- Submit code for review.
- Learn how to read and understand existing code.
- Maintain clean, organized, and understandable code.
- Make necessary changes based on developer feedback.
6. Technical Documentation
- Document completed features and modules.
- Assist in preparing API or technical documentation.
- Maintain development notes.
- Document known bugs and solutions.
- Update project progress and technical status.
- Ensure important development information is properly recorded.
