RM 4000 - RM 7000

IOI Boulevard, Puchong, Selangor

Job Description

Sigma School is Malaysia’s #1 coding bootcamp and one of the fastest-growing EdTech companies in Southeast Asia. Our mission is to help people break into tech and transform their careers — fast.

We’re building two major products side by side:

  1. Sigma Learning Portal (Codecademy-style interactive coding environment)
  2. Jobier (AI-powered job search, CV optimisation, and automated job-application engine)

To scale these products, we’re hiring a Product Designer & Product Associate — someone who can combine UX/UI design with product thinking to create a seamless, intuitive journey from learning → job placement.

Why This Role Exists

As we build a full end-to-end learning-to-employment ecosystem, we need someone who can:

  • Understand student & jobseeker pain points deeply
  • Redesign UI/UX flows to improve clarity, motivation and engagement
  • Work with engineering to ship meaningful improvements
  • Use data and interviews to identify friction and fix it
  • Own the student experience across both products

This is a hybrid role. Some days you’re the UX designer, some days the product analyst, some days the project driver. If you like versatility and ownership, you’ll love this role.

What You’ll Be Doing

Product & Student Experience

  • Map the entire learner and jobseeker journey across Sigma School + Jobier
  • Identify UX friction, drop-offs and confusing flows
  • Turn insights into clear, actionable product improvements
  • Coordinate with engineering to deliver and validate changes
  • Work on onboarding flows, dashboards, instructions, projects, jobs, and career pathways

UX/UI Design

  • Design wireframes, flows, and high-fidelity UI using Figma
  • Create clean, intuitive interfaces for our learning platform
  • Improve layouts, components, and user interactions
  • Run small usability tests to validate design decisions
  • Ensure consistent branding and interface quality across products

Product Execution

  • Break down product problems into clear tasks for engineering
  • Validate completed work and test for quality
  • Track metrics like completion rates, funnel conversions, NPS, drop-offs
  • Run A/B tests and design small experiments to improve outcomes

User Research & Insights

  • Talk to students weekly to understand behaviour and pain points
  • Collect feedback from community, instructors, and jobseekers
  • Analyse admissions, learning, and job-matching funnels
  • Turn insights into design and product decisions

Nice to Have

  • Experience in EdTech, HRTech, marketplaces, or SaaS
  • Experience working with engineers on rapid iteration cycles
  • Understanding of basic front-end concepts (not mandatory)
  • Experience designing for learning environments or dashboards

Who You’ll Work With

You’ll work directly with:

  • Founder (Product & Strategy)
  • Engineering team (Frontend, Backend, DevOps)
  • Growth & SEO team
  • Career Placement & Admissions team
  • Student success & coaching team
  • Your work will affect every student and jobseeker who uses Sigma School and Jobier.

What You’ll Get

  • Real ownership over major product flows
  • The chance to help shape Malaysia’s most ambitious tech education platform
  • Fast growth environment, no corporate layers
  • Clear progression toward Product Manager or Senior Product Designer
  • A culture obsessed with clarity, speed, and impact

Job Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in product, UI/UX design, or product design
  • Strong Figma skills (flows, wireframes, prototypes)
  • Ability to break down complex problems into simple user flows
  • Comfortable analysing data + talking to real users
  • Able to work end-to-end: research → design → handoff → QA
  • Strong ownership mentality and bias towards action
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment
