We started Sigma School because we believe that the current education system is broken.

Students are struggling to get jobs and struggling to pay back their student loans, yet employers are still struggling to hire good talents.

There is a massive, growing tech talent-skill mismatch in the world right now and almost ALL educators are not held accountable to help their students secure jobs.

They simply have no incentive to ensure their graduates get hired – they get paid regardless.

We're a squad of education-focused hustlers who know what life's like on the other side, and we're on a mission to fix this.

1. Innovation Has A 50% Chance Of Failing

We also believe that failure is an important part of the learning process. That's why we set our OKRs with a 50% chance of failing. We recognize that taking risks and trying new things is essential for growth and innovation. We encourage our teams to think outside the box and push the boundaries of what's possible. If there’s no chance of failing, it’s not a goal, it’s your job.

1. 20% Time To Explore The Unknown

We believe in giving our team members the freedom to explore the unknown. We encourage our team members to spend 80% of their weekly time doing their work and 20% of their weekly tasks exploring new ideas, technologies, or approaches that are aligned with achieving our goals at the company. This allows us to stay ahead of the curve and fosters a culture of innovation and experimentation.

To ensure that we are making the most of our time and resources, we also prioritize ruthlessly. We focus on the 20% of efforts that will drive 80% of our results, and we are not afraid to say "no" to projects that do not align with our goals or our values.

We believe in focusing our efforts on building assets and process flows that can have a long-lasting impact on our company and our customers. We prioritize tasks and projects that can create long-term value, rather than focusing solely on short-term operational tasks. You should constantly be thinking how you can create scalable and reusable solutions that can be used across multiple projects and teams.

1. Make as many mistakes as you want everyday, just don’t repeat them

We also recognize that failure is not a setback, but rather a stepping stone to success. We believe in learning from our mistakes, adapting our approach, and trying again. We encourage our team members to take calculated risks, to embrace challenges, and to never give up.

1. Transparent communication: 1-on-1s

It’s pivotal to communicate. If one party in a relationship is not happy, it’s bound to end. Let’s talk things out and clear the air. Most unhappiness are a function of misaligned expectations. It’s important to get aligned.
