Job Description

 We’re looking for someone who:

• Knows their way around Instagram Reels / TikToks and LinkedIn
• Has a strong eye for lighting, angles, sound, and visual mood
• Can choose good locations, backgrounds, and ambience for filming
• Can hold a phone steady and knows when to move it
• Isn’t afraid to talk to people
• Understands that “just one more take” is sometimes necessary

You’ll be working closely with a founder building a neuroscience-based brand and education business. Your job is to capture real moments, turn them into scroll-stopping content, and build brand visibility one reel at a time.

What You’ll Be Doing (a lot)

• Planning, scouting, and filming short-form videos (Instagram / TikTok)
• Choosing filming locations that feel intelligent and on-brand
• Ensuring good lighting, sound quality, framing, and visual consistency
• Editing clips into engaging content (CapCut, InShot, Premiere, etc.)
• Asking people questions on camera (yes, strangers too, politely but with personality)
• Taking photos, BTS shots, and candid moments
• Creating static posts when needed
• Posting content on social platforms
• Boosting selected posts (you’ll be guided)
• Spotting trends and knowing which ones fit the Superstate brand

Short-form content is the priority for now.

Long-form content = maybe later, not your headache yet.

You’re a Good Fit If You:

• Are comfortable around a camera
• Have a good eye for aesthetics, ambience, and visual storytelling
• Can approach people without melting into the floor
• Know how to edit fast and clean
• Spend too much time on Instagram or TikTok (this finally counts as work)
• Can work independently, make decisions, and hit weekly targets
• Want real experience, not “intern but make coffee” energy

The Details

• Contract / Intern role
• RM1,500 – RM3,000 per month (based on skills)

Job Requirements

• Strong eye for lighting, angles, sound quality, and visual engagement
• Ability to assess location, ambience, and background and choose filming setups independently
• Basic to intermediate short-form video editing skills (CapCut, InShot, Premiere, or similar)
• Ability to create static brochures and media
• Comfortable filming in public spaces and engaging with people on camera
• Able to work independently and take responsibility for content quality
• Available for in-person filming as required
• Open to feedback and iteration (we’re building, not blaming)
• Owns a smartphone with a good camera suitable for short-form video content
  (company equipment may be provided as the role evolves))
