Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Specialist with strong BigQuery (BQ) coding skills to join our dynamic finance team. This role will involve managing and optimizing our financial database, producing high-quality management reports, analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs), and preparing board-level reports. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical, analytical, and communication skills, enabling them to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Database Management
Design, optimize, and maintain financial databases using BigQuery.
Write and troubleshoot complex BQ queries to ensure accurate and efficient data extraction and analysis.
Collaborate with IT and data teams to streamline data pipelines and ensure seamless integration with reporting tools.
Financial Reporting
Prepare and automate management reports, dashboards, and board-level presentations.
Analyze financial data and KPIs to provide actionable insights to leadership.
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all reports, aligning with business needs.
Analysis & Forecasting
Conduct in-depth analyses of financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
Assist in creating financial models to evaluate scenarios and support decision-making.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., finance, operations, and senior leadership) to understand data requirements and improve reporting processes.
Communicate complex findings and recommendations in a clear, concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.
Process Improvement
Identify and implement opportunities for process automation and optimization within the reporting and analysis functions.
Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging tools/technologies to enhance FP&A capabilities.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, or a related field. An advanced degree of certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, or similar) is a plus.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or a similar role.
Proven expertise in BigQuery, with experience in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
Hands-on experience with reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or Looker).
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial modeling.
Familiarity with data visualization and business intelligence tools.
Knowledge of other coding languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
