Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Deliver production features end to end across the full stack — Angular frontend, Node.js backend, PostgreSQL and DynamoDB data layer — from scoping and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and validation.
• Build and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs that integrate structured content authoring workflows with regulated document management processes.
• Deploy, operate, and troubleshoot platform services on AWS infrastructure including ECS, Lambda, S3, SQS, EventBridge, CloudFormation, and CloudFront.
• Implement and enforce GxP compliance controls — audit trails, electronic signatures, data integrity, and access controls — as integral parts of every feature, aligned with 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 requirements.
• Improve platform reliability by identifying fragile areas, adding observability and telemetry, writing runbooks, and resolving root causes before they become production incidents.
• Review code with depth and intent, catching design problems and explaining the reasoning behind feedback to elevate the quality and technical decision-making of junior and mid-level engineers.
• Contribute informed, evidence-based opinions to architecture discussions, challenging proposals that don't hold up and suggesting well-reasoned alternatives.
• Leverage AI tools as a default part of the development workflow — code generation, test scaffolding, documentation — while rigorously validating all outputs to meet regulated-environment standards.

Job Requirements

Requirements: 

1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
2. Strong proficiency in TypeScript across the full stack, with hands-on experience building and shipping production features in both Angular and Node.js
3. Demonstrated ability to design and build RESTful and GraphQL APIs, including authentication, authorization, and integration with structured content workflows
4. Hands-on experience with both relational and non-relational databases — specifically PostgreSQL and DynamoDB — including schema design, query optimization, and reasoning about data modelling tradeoffs in compliance-sensitive contexts
5. Working knowledge of AWS services in production environments, including container orchestration (ECS), serverless compute (Lambda), storage (S3), messaging (SQS, EventBridge), infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation), and content delivery (CloudFront)
6. Experience building software in a regulated or compliance-heavy environment such as life sciences (GxP), fintech, healthcare, or government — with a practical understanding of audit trails, data integrity, and access control as engineering concerns
7. Proven ability to own features end to end — from reading a product requirement through scoping, implementation, testing, deployment, and production monitoring — without needing work to be broken down or progress managed externally
8. Strong commitment to code quality and maintainability: clear naming, reasonable abstractions, meaningful test coverage, and no clever tricks that only the author understands
9. Active use of AI-assisted development tools as a practical part of daily workflow, with the discipline to validate outputs rigorously and help teammates adopt the same approach
10. Demonstrated mentoring impact through code reviews, pairing sessions, clear technical communication, and well-written tickets — teaching by doing rather than lecturing
11. Ability to engage constructively in architectural discussions, backing positions with evidence and adapting when presented with better alternatives
12. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams including product, QA, infrastructure, and compliance
