Job Description

On-Site Support Test Engineer responsible for providing on-site technical support, testing, troubleshooting, repair and commissioning of electronic systems and equipment at customer locations. Role requires hands-on expertise, ability to lead and guide junior engineers, coordinate with internal teams, prepare technical reports, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform on-site testing, validation, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of electronic systems, equipment, and test solutions.
• Diagnose complex hardware, PCB, circuit, and system-level failures and provide corrective actions.
• Conduct system functional, calibration, performance, and reliability testing according to requirements and standards.
• Analyze test results and recommend corrective actions.
• Travel to customer sites to provide technical support, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting services.
• Support equipment installation, setup, and acceptance testing at customer sites.
• Respond promptly to customer technical issues and service requests; ensure site activities are completed safely and professionally.
• Lead and guide junior engineers and technicians during site service activities.
• Act as main technical point of contact between customers, internal engineering teams, and management.
• Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to team members and customers when required.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Engineering departments to resolve issues.
• Maintain supplier database and purchasing records; ensure materials are purchased to specifications.
• Prepare detailed service reports, test results, failure analysis reports, and corrective action documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, spare parts usage, and test data.
• Provide feedback to R&D or production teams for product improvement.
• Communicate professionally with customers to explain technical issues, solutions, and recommendations.
• Ensure all site service work complies with safety regulations, quality standards, company procedures, and customer requirements; follow ESD, quality control, and testing standards.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Electronic Engineering, Engineering, or related field.
• Preferably 1–3 years of experience in testing, engineering, field service, equipment support, automation, or related technical environment (fresh graduates with relevant technical knowledge may be considered).
• Good understanding of electrical/electronic systems and test equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Knowledge of testing and measurement equipment.
• Basic understanding of PLC, automation, sensors, control systems, or industrial equipment is an advantage.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and technical reporting.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure, on-site and travel as required; able to work flexible hours.
• Good command of English and/or Bahasa Malaysia; other languages advantageous.
• Responsible, disciplined, proactive, and customer-oriented.

 We are looking for candidates from Sabah and Sarawak with a background in Electronic Engineering. The position is based in Melaka. Accommodation and transportation will be provided by the company.
