Job Description

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on VP of Engineering to lead our client's engineering function. You will oversee multiple engineering teams, set the technical vision, and work closely with product and business leaders to drive scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. This role demands both technical depth and leadership maturity.

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 10+ engineers across backend, frontend, and DevOps functions
• Set and communicate a clear technical vision aligned with product and business strategy
• Oversee system architecture, scalability planning, and security best practices
• Maintain high engineering standards via code reviews, CI/CD, and automated testing
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and business stakeholders
• Drive sprint planning, delivery timelines, and engineering performance metrics
• Lead hiring, onboarding, and professional development for engineering talent
• Ensure systems are reliable, compliant, and optimized for scale and performance
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in engineering processes

Job Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role
• Proven track record of scaling and managing high-performing, cross-functional engineering teams
• Strong experience in system architecture, scalability, and cloud-based infrastructure
• Hands-on familiarity with modern tech stacks, especially Node.js
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Solid understanding of database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Mysql, MongoDB).
• Background in fast-paced startups or regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, etc.)
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Analytical and calm under pressure, with a lead-by-example mindset
