Job Description

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of mission-critical electrical systems at a data center / critical facility. You will serve as the focal point for all electrical systems, ensuring high availability, compliance, safety, and performance while working closely with internal teams, vendors, and the client.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Systems Ownership

• Oversee MV & LV electrical systems (11kV / 415V), transformers, switchgears, ATS, RMU, MSB/SSB/DB
   
• Manage UPS, battery banks, DC systems, and power distribution units
   
• Maintain and test generators (load bank, off-load, integration with exhaust and auxiliary systems)
   
• Ensure proper operation of lightning protection, earthing, and grounding systems
   
• Maintain building electrical systems (DBs, lighting, emergency lighting, EV chargers)
   

Maintenance & Compliance

• Execute Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance (RM)
   
• Develop and review Method of Procedures (MOPs)
   
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and maintain defect/snag lists
   
• Perform fault diagnosis, repairs, and corrective actions
   
• Ensure compliance with safety, client SOPs, and statutory requirements
   

Incident & Risk Management

• Respond to system failures and incidents
   
• Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports and corrective action plans
   
• Coordinate shutdowns and major works during weekends or public holidays
   

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Manage vendors, service providers, and client-appointed contractors
   
• Evaluate service proposals, parts sourcing, and PPM contracts
   
• Ensure proper documentation and CMMS updates
   

Reporting & Operations

• Conduct daily site walk inspections
   
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports
   
• Track power systems performance, uptime, and reliability metrics
   
• Plan manpower and improvement projects
   

Job Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field
   
• Minimum 8 years O&M experience in critical facilities (data centers, hospitals, industrial plants)
  (or 5 years in large commercial/industrial facilities)
   
• Strong understanding of MEPF and critical power systems
   
• Familiar with industry terms (HT/LV, RMU, MSB, TX, UPS, PPM, kV, V, A, Ohm)
   
• Highly analytical with strong engineering fundamentals
   
• Able to work on standby, weekends, and public holidays
   
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
   
• Self-driven, proactive, and capable of independent problem-solving
   
• Fluent in Mandarin (spoken & written); English is required
