About the Role
At PurelyB, we’re on a mission to revive ancestral Malaysian rainforest remedies for modern wellness. As our Social Media Specialist, you’ll be the voice, pulse, and connector of our community — driving meaningful engagement, building loyal advocates, and translating PurelyB’s heritage and values into captivating social experiences that drive awareness, trust, and growth.
You’ll lead our social media strategy and storytelling across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn, ensuring every piece of content builds connection, community, and conversion — both online and offline.
Your Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Community Growth
- Develop and execute a social media strategy that drives awareness, engagement, and brand love across all platforms.
- Grow and nurture a vibrant online community — turning followers into fans, and fans into lifelong customers.
- Stay on top of social and cultural trends, platform algorithms, and best practices in the wellness and CPG space.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Ecommerce, Content, Design, and Partnerships teams to ensure all social initiatives are aligned with product launches, campaigns, and partnerships.
2. Content Creation & Storytelling
- Plan and manage a social content calendar across all key platforms, with engaging daily posts, stories, reels, and videos.
- Collaborate with the Content Creator and Designer to produce visually captivating and emotionally resonant content — from quick Reels to founder and community stories.
- Write authentic, conversational captions and hooks that inspire engagement and connection.
- Lead the creative direction for videos and visuals, ensuring all content is on-brand, platform-optimized, and true to PurelyB’s wellness ethos.
3. Community Engagement, Nurturing & Events
- Build authentic relationships with followers: respond to comments, DMs, and mentions with warmth, empathy, and purpose.
- Create interactive community experiences — live Q&As, wellness challenges, giveaways, polls, and real-talk founder sessions — to spark two-way engagement and deepen trust.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Events team to plan and execute community-building events and campaigns (online and offline) that strengthen relationships, nurture existing customers, and offer value-added experiences such as workshops, wellness meetups, founder talks, or customer appreciation initiatives.
- Foster a sense of belonging and shared mission among the community, highlighting customer stories, testimonials, and transformations.
- Partner with Customer Service to ensure timely, thoughtful responses to all social inquiries.
- Identify loyal customers and advocates to feature or involve in UGC, affiliate, or event opportunities.
4. Influencer & UGC Strategy
- In partnership with the Ecommerce & Affiliate Marketing Specialist, lead the social-first influencer & UGC strategy: identify influencers (macro, micro, and nano) aligned with PurelyB’s values and brand aesthetic, spearhead briefs specific to social (as opposed to just affiliate content), and ensure we maximise social reach, engagement, and conversions from influencer and UGC campaigns.
- Own the UGC pipeline: ideate UGC campaigns or community prompts (e.g., “share your routine”, “heritage remedy story”, “kids wellness story”), manage collection of UGC assets, organise permissions and licensing, and package content for reuse across paid and organic channels.
- Analyse influencer and UGC performance (engagement rates, content reuse, follower growth, conversions) and refine strategies based on performance data to improve future outcomes.
5. Analytics & Optimization
- Track and report on social metrics — growth, engagement, reach, conversions, and sentiment — with clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- Continuously optimize content, timing, and platform mix based on performance data.
- Experiment with new features, trends, and formats (e.g., live shopping, collaborations, reels, stories) to keep content fresh and relevant.

What We’re Looking For
- 3–5+ years experience managing and growing social media for DTC, wellness, or lifestyle brands.
- Strong understanding of social storytelling, platform algorithms, and content performance optimization.
- Experience collaborating with content, creative, and event teams to bridge online and offline community engagement.
- A creator’s mindset — confident in ideation, direction, and managing content production.
- Excellent copywriting and visual communication skills.
- Data-driven mindset with a passion for turning insights into results.
- A genuine passion for wellness, clean living, and Malaysian heritage.
