Production first commenced in August 1997.The Company is owned by a consortium of corporate shareholders, which constitutes of Sime Darby Motors Sdn. Bhd., Sime Darby Hyundai Sdn Bhd, Hyundai Motor Company of South Korea , and Berjaya Auto Berhad.
