We’re looking for someone who perform with purpose and edits with performance in mind.

Location: Lumi Tropicana, Petaling Jaya | Type: Full-Time, On-site | Language: English & Mandarin

ROLE OVERVIEW

You will lead the ideation and execution of short-form and marketing videos that drive campaign performance across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, XHS, TikTok, and YouTube. From scripting to editing, you’ll own the full video creation process—working closely with the creative, strategy, and digital teams to bring ideas to life through storytelling, pacing, and conversion-driven editing.

This role is ideal for a performance-minded creative who understands both branding and what makes people stop scrolling.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop short-form video scripts and storyboard outlines based on client briefs, campaign goals, and platform trends
  • Write compelling hooks, captions, and CTAs aligned with campaign objectives (e.g., leads, sign-ups, webinar registration)
  • Collaborate with the team to translate ad ideas into engaging visual formats
  • Create visual flow references or mood boards before production or editing
  • Edit a variety of short-form content formats (ads, reels, testimonials, promo videos) with fast-paced, high-retention styles
  • Add subtitles, dynamic transitions, motion graphics, and sound effects to increase engagement
  • Repurpose long-form content into short-form highlight clips or ad variations
  • Deliver final videos optimized for platform-specific specs and compression (Meta, XHS, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)
  • Source B-roll, stock footage, and royalty-free music that elevates the edit
  • Ensure all outputs meet brand guidelines and quality standards before internal/client reviews
  • Continuously improve edits based on performance feedback (CTR, watch time, CPL, ROAS)
  • Maintain consistency in brand tone, message, and editing style across videos while pushing boundaries
  • Brainstorm creative directions with the team—not just follow briefs
  • Optimise creatives based on performance data (CTR, CVR, ROAS)
  • Propose new video angles, hooks, or storytelling formats based on audience behavior and campaign performance
  • Collaborate with the Digital team to test multiple creative variations for better results
  • Research trends on XHS, TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts to propose new content formats
  • Monitor competitor ad libraries and collect high-performing creative references
  • Maintain a swipe file of winning ad styles and motion trends to inspire future campaigns
  • Juggle multiple projects with speed, focus, and precision—without compromising quality or deadlines

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • 1–3 years in video editing, preferably in an agency, performance marketing or high-output freelance environment.
  • Must be fluent in both English and Chinese (written and spoken) — the role requires in both languages. 
  • Strong portfolio showing image + video creatives used in real ad campaigns
  • Proficient in CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, and After Effects
  • Strong storytelling and scriptwriting skills for short-form content
  • Experience editing performance-driven videos (ads, launches, event promos)
  • Strong understanding of trends across XHS, TikTok, Meta Ads, YouTube Shorts
  • Creative problem-solving mindset and the ability to work under fast-paced deadlines
  • Strong eye for layout, color, typography, and ad psychology
  • Familiar with different ad formats, sizes, and placements for Meta, TikTok, YouTube
  • Understands how to design for attention, clarity, and conversion
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setup

  • Motion graphics or animation skills
  • Knowledge of ad platform policies and creative limits (text, dimensions, safe zones)
  • Experience using AI tools in production (Runway, Midjourney, ChatGPT, etc.)
