Yet, despite her deep appreciation for her Asian heritage, she struggled to find clothing that truly reflected her identity. Whether it was a saree, a suit, or a traditional Malay outfit, the options felt limited, leaving her to resort to improvisation, mixing and matching to express her unique style.
The spark for Banavees Designs ignited during moments spent perusing her mother's extensive collection of sarees. Faced with the challenge of ill-fitting blouses or mismatched styles, Praveena recognized a shared sentiment among many like her – a desire to honor tradition while embracing modernity. Sewing bespoke blouses for each saree proved impractical, yet the demand from friends for her designs only fueled her passion further.
Driven by a childhood dream of becoming a designer,Praveena embarked on a mission to bridge the gap between tradition and contemporary fashion.
