Job Description

Chef Dr. Abang Brian is looking for a full-time Video Editor to support content creation for both the Abang Brian personal brand and The Hungry Immigrant, a food culture and storytelling platform centered on identity, migration, heritage, and community.

This role is ideal for someone who understands social-first video, podcast storytelling, food content, and how to turn raw footage into engaging, emotional, and shareable content.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn. 
• Edit long-form podcast episodes, interviews, YouTube videos, event recordings, and brand content. 
• Pull strong clips from raw footage, including emotional, funny, educational, and viral moments. 
• Create subtitles, hooks, captions, title cards, lower thirds, thumbnails, and simple graphics. 
• Edit cooking demos, recipe videos, restaurant visits, podcast clips, behind-the-scenes footage, and event recaps. 
• Format videos for different platforms, including vertical, square, and horizontal edits. 
• Support basic color correction, audio cleanup, music selection, and sound design. 
• Organize footage, project files, exports, and brand assets. 
• Occasionally travel for shoots, live events, podcast recordings, brand collaborations, and on-site content capture. 
• Support on-site recording when needed, including basic camera, audio, and lighting setup.

Job Requirements

Required Skills

• Strong experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar. 
• Experience editing short-form social media videos. 
• Strong understanding of pacing, hooks, subtitles, music, and social media trends. 
• Comfortable editing podcast footage, interviews, food content, events, and creator-led content. 
• Basic understanding of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn video formats. 
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. 
• Good communication skills and openness to feedback. 

Preferred Skills

• Experience with podcast clips, documentary-style interviews, food, culture, travel, or lifestyle content. 
• Basic graphic design skills using Canva, Photoshop, or similar tools. 
• Experience creating thumbnails and social media covers. 
• Basic knowledge of camera operation, lighting, audio setup, and interview recording. 
• Comfortable with occasional travel and on-site recording. 
• Owns or has access to basic video and audio equipment, such as a camera, tripod, microphone, lighting, or mobile filming setup. This is preferred but not required. 
• Familiarity with Frame.io, Google Drive, Dropbox, or similar collaboration tools.
