The Import Supervisor (Customs Declaration) is responsible for overseeing daily airfreight import operations, ensuring accurate and timely customs declarations, compliance with local and international regulations, and smooth coordination between customers, airlines, customs authorities, and internal departments. Key Responsibilities:
1. Customs Declaration & Compliance
* Prepare, review, and submit import customs declarations accurately and within deadlines.
* Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and aviation security requirements.
* Verify HS codes, duties, taxes, permits, and supporting documentation.
* Handle customs queries, inspections, and audits.
* Monitor updates in customs regulations and implement necessary changes.
2. Airfreight Operations Supervision
* Supervise daily import airfreight activities.
* Coordinate with airlines, ground handlers, and warehouse teams for cargo movement.
* Monitor shipment status and resolve operational issues.
3. Documentation & Accuracy
* Review commercial invoices, packing lists, permits, COO, and other required documents.
* Ensure proper record-keeping and filing (digital and physical).
* Minimise errors to avoid penalties, delays, or additional charges.
4. Customer & Vendor Coordination
* Communicate with customers regarding shipment status, documentation requirements, and compliance matters.
* Liaise with customs brokers, transporters, and regulatory authorities.
* Provide advisory support on import/export regulations.
* Handle shipment discrepancies, delays, fines, or penalties.
* Escalate critical issues to management when necessary.
