Job Summary

• The Commis Chef supports the kitchen team by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, following food safety standards, and ensuring smooth daily kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation

• Assist in preparing ingredients, including washing, cutting, peeling, and portioning.
• Support chefs in cooking and plating food according to recipes and standards.
• Ensure food is prepared efficiently and consistently.
• Assist in setting up workstations before service.

Kitchen Operations

• Support daily kitchen operations and food production activities.
• Ensure ingredients and supplies are available for service.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing stock properly.
• Follow instructions from senior kitchen staff and complete assigned tasks promptly.

Food Safety & Hygiene

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of food products.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations.

Team Support

• Work closely with kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs.
• Assist with any additional kitchen duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Requirements

• Minimum SPM qualification; Certificate in Culinary Arts is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations is preferred.
• Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
