Started in 2011 by filmmaker Gary Chong, we strive to create “out of the box” content to fulfill all of our clientele’s needs. Our aim is to not just produce another run of the mill video, but tailor our videos to maximize the impact of the client's intended message.

<p>Gary Chong Studios is looking for an experienced <strong>Videographer / Video Editor</strong> who is equally confident behind the camera and in the edit suite.</p>
<p>This is a hands-on role for someone with a strong eye for <strong>cinematography, lighting, composition and visual storytelling</strong>, while also having the editorial skills to shape footage into polished, engaging stories.</p>
<p>You will work across a diverse range of productions including <strong>corporate films, commercials, brand and campaign videos, testimonials, festive films, event content and digital/social content</strong>.</p>
<p>We are looking for someone who understands that great visuals go beyond simply operating a camera. You should be able to understand the creative intention behind a project, translate it into thoughtful lighting and camera decisions on set, and carry that same storytelling mindset through post-production.</p>
<p>Depending on the scale of the production, you may operate as the <strong>Director of Photography (DOP), Videographer or Camera Operator</strong>, working closely with the Creative Director, Producer and wider production team.</p>
<h2><br>Key Responsibilities</h2>
<h3>Cinematography &amp; Production</h3>
<ul>
<li>Serve as <strong>Director of Photography (DOP), Videographer or Camera Operator</strong> depending on the requirements and complexity of each production.</li>
<li>Translate creative treatments, scripts and storyboards into appropriate visual and cinematographic approaches.</li>
<li>Plan and execute camera setups, shot composition, camera movement and lighting to achieve the intended creative direction.</li>
<li>Possess a strong understanding of <strong>exposure, frame rates, shutter speed/angle, ISO, white balance, codecs, picture profiles and other essential camera settings</strong>.</li>
<li>Set up and operate professional cameras, lenses, lighting, audio and supporting production equipment.</li>
<li>Work closely with directors and creative leads to determine the visual language and technical requirements of each shoot.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot technical challenges efficiently on set and propose practical solutions when issues arise.</li>
<li>Ensure footage is technically sound, properly exposed, focused and captured according to production requirements.</li>
<li>Support other production requirements where necessary.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Video Editing &amp; Post-Production</h3>
<ul>
<li>Edit videos from <strong>offline edit through to final delivery</strong>, depending on project requirements.</li>
<li>Build strong story structures from raw footage, interviews, scripts and creative briefs.</li>
<li>Demonstrate a strong understanding of <strong>storytelling, pacing, rhythm, emotional beats and music selection</strong>.</li>
<li>Perform basic colour correction/grading, audio balancing, subtitles, graphics and other post-production requirements.</li>
<li>Work closely with Creative Directors and Producers to interpret feedback and translate it effectively into revisions.</li>
<li>Maintain organised project files, footage, assets and project archives.</li>
<li>Deliver edits according to agreed production timelines while maintaining quality standards.</li>
<li>Adapt content into different formats and aspect ratios where required.</li>
</ul>
