Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Responsible for system analysis, system design, application development, report generation, amendment and enhancement for applications assigned.

2.    Ensure amended and enhanced systems meet user functional requirement specifications.

3.    Ensure proper documentation of all development to facilitate future maintenance, enhancements and source code control.

4.    Build appropriate controls into business application software to ensure stability, security and reliability.  Analyze changes & impact on existing systems.

5.    Provide expert advice for best solution to production problems.

6.    Liase with project manager to define technical & systems requirements.

7.    Provide options /alternatives available to address user requirements and recommendation on software solution

8.    Provide support during implementation of software and systems.

9.    Prioritize, assign and execute tasks throughout the software development life cycle

10.  Evaluation and acquisition of tools, utilities, hardware (including upgrades) and software.

11.  Decision on the Technical Approach to be sed to address systems’ enhancements.

12.  Proposal on enhancement of applications for better performance.

13.  Technology platform assessment inclusive of stress test benchmarking.

14.  Perform any other duties and responsibilities as and when assigned by Management.

QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILL REQUIREMENT

1.    Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or relevant fields.

2.    Experience in application server clustering, performance tuning and testing.

3.    Experience developing applications using components with Java (J2EE).

4.    Experience working and administering with WebSphere applications in Unix (AIX) or Windows Server.

5.    Experience with databases like MSSQL or MYSQL.

Special Skills

1. Hands-on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms, Spring Framework and Java Server Faces (JSF).
2. Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. In depth understanding of framework design and architecture.
5. Ability to articulate issues & capable of providing long-term solutions with short term

    mitigation plan.

Job Requirements

Job Responsibilities

1. Responsible for applications maintenance, development, implementation and support for Java applications and all the related interfaces with other channel systems including a Business Process Management using license tool (e-Form).
2. Participates in user requirement study/analysis and systems design for the above-mentioned applications.  Undertake incident / problem troubleshooting and adopts appropriate actions to address reported incident / problem according to the stipulated SOP and good methodologies / practices.
3. To lead the team, coordinate and execute applications development, implementation and production support activities.
4. Assists HOD in understanding & interpreting user requirements, coordinating with relevant parties in business specifications gathering & documentation and liasing with project team in technical solution development.
