Job Description

POSITION GENRAL SUMMARY

The Manager- Data Management is part of the Big Data Analytics team. The Incumbent is responsible for overall BDA operations and should manage the E2E Operations and System availability, Capacity Monitoring, deliver the Data to business user as per agreed SLA in coordination with Vendor Support.
The Incumbent is responsible for resolving the issues and should able to clear the trouble tickets
Should be aware of the SLAs of the applications and should abide by the SLAs
Able to manage the client and other vendors to close the open issues
Should able to handle the change requests

 

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee the implementation of Managed Services projects with internal team and appropriate business partners
  • Manage 24x7 operations
  • Monitor alerts/warnings
  • Proactively check for parameters reaching thresholds
  • Monitor and analyses system logs, Check error logs and Perform general health checks for applications in-scope on a weekly basis
  • Monitor all DataMart and batch jobs
  • Ensure data are provided as per agreed timeline
  • Ensure Data Quality, all reports and dashboard are delivered according to the agreed SLA
  • Ensure service availability as per the MAHB business needs  
  • Restore normal service operations as per agreed SLA and minimize any adverse impact on the business operations ensuring best possible levels of service quality, integrity, confidentiality and availability.
  • Initiate Incident resolution, priorities, assign resources
  • Perform test to the incident resolution to ensure it works
  • Deploy/Implement the Incident resolution or work around solution.
  • Identify the root-cause analysis and perform root cause analysis for problems
  • Create a Change Request (CR) to the Development team, if any, for developing the code fix
  • Diagnose and perform trend analysis to determine potential preventative measures to support continuous improvement initiatives

Key Challenges

  • Synchronizing liaison work to meet implementation datelines of various initiatives.
  • Coordination and the development of a unified digital platform.
  • Ensure the availability of the "Data Lake" as a corporate "single source of truth"

Skills

  • Able to work independently, good communication skills and able to liaise across different levels of management, dedicated, and have endurance.
  • Logical and enthusiastic statistical genius
  • Ability to understand customer challenges and define, architect, document and implement technical solutions
  • Develops and recommend strategic and tactical plans for the delivery of technical services

Education

External

  • Degree preferably with specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Data Management, Statistics
  • Master degree would be an added advantage

Relevant Industries

Unique Requirements

  •  Advanced knowledge of Big Data analysis and management with Hadoop Distribution such as Cloudera
  • Solid knowledge of and experience with Agile software development or Sprint Design

 

External

  • Degree with minimum 5 years relevant experience
