Job Description

1. Tax Compliance

  • Prepare and review corporate tax computations, individual tax returns, and related tax filings in accordance with the Income Tax Act 1967.
  • Ensure tax returns are submitted accurately and within the required statutory deadlines.
  • Review tax payments and tax estimates to ensure correctness and compliance with regulations.

2. Tax Advisory

  • Provide advisory services on Malaysian tax matters, including withholding tax, tax incentives, capital allowances, double tax deductions, and tax exemption claims.
  • Assist in tax planning engagements to enhance tax efficiency while complying with Malaysian tax legislation.

3. Liaison and Communication

  • Communicate and liaise with tax authorities on tax queries, audits, and clarifications.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and internal departments on tax-related matters.

4. Supervision and Review

  • Review work prepared by junior tax staff and provide guidance to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support staff development by providing training on updated Malaysian tax regulations, public rulings, and legislative changes.

5. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain proper documentation for tax filings, supporting schedules, and correspondence with authorities.
  • Prepare tax reports for management and ensure effective internal tax controls are maintained.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, or MICPA is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of relevant tax experience, preferably within a professional services firm.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax laws, Public Rulings, and LHDN guidelines.
  • Familiarity with MyTax and MySST portals.
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines effectively.

  • Experience in handling tax audits and investigations.
  • Familiarity with tax software and accounting systems.
  • Ability to provide practical and well-structured tax solutions.
