JOB SCOPE:

The incumbent is responsible to assist the Actuarial Manager / Senior Manager to provide support in relation to the MFRS / IFRS 17 financial reporting.

Actuarial knowledge and skills are necessary in relation to the life insurance business.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide support in delivering MFRS / IFRS 17 valuation. This includes:

• Perform Prophet runs for liability valuation
• Perform tests and analyses with different tools (e.g. Alteryx, SQL, Visual Basic, etc) as required under the MFRS / IFRS 17 standards
• Compile results and provide supporting analyses.
• Ensure proper documentation of work.
• Work with other departments and provide support when necessary

2. Perform Prophet modeling and Data Conversion System (DCS) changes to incorporate MFRS / IFRS 17 requirements, including ensuring all required procedures and documentation are completed whenever any revisions are made.

3. Provide support for IT system testing readiness.

4. Recommend solutions to improve efficiency, governance, quality and transparency of processes and reports.

JOB SPECIFICATION

a. Qualifications:

• Degree in Actuarial Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Physics or other physical sciences or numerate discipline.
• Good progress in actuarial professional examinations.

b. Experience:

• A numerate and analytical mind.
• Proficiency with programming tools (e.g. Visual Basic)

c. Knowledge               

• Practical knowledge in Prophet (preferred) or other projection software would be preferred
• Must be meticulous with the ability to work under pressure.
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work under minimum supervision
