Main purpose of job

Operate computer-controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions on metal or plastic work pieces.

Main duties

Manufacturing Operation

• Set up manual and CNC equipment without supervision
• Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed
• Ensure all documentation is complete and correct
• Utilize production work orders and documents
• Follow work instructions and safety regulations at all times
• Detect and report defective equipment, materials and/or faulty operations to supervisor
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
• Perform other duties as assigned

Quality Control Management

• Utilize measuring equipment used in the industry such as caliper’s, micrometer’s, height gage and other measuring equipment needed to complete work
• Perform first part inspection and in process inspections
• Identify root causes and corrective action for quality problems
• Use prescribed procedures to inspect part(s) and product(s) produced to assure compliance to specifications that will eliminate defects, scrap, rework, etc.
• Ensure parts meet all Customer Quality Requirements

Maintenance and Prevention

• Maintain equipment and work area on a daily basis in a clean and orderly condition
• Maintain equipment and facilities in satisfactory operating condition by providing prescribed systematic inspection procedures
• Maintain the preventive maintenance log 

Workplace Safety

• Follow prescribed work rules and standard safety regulations at all times

• Ability to take direction from lead and supervisor to complete assigned tasks
• Ability to utilize interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, and dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles
• Ability to communicate information clearly and directly co-workers and supervisory personnel both verbally and in writing
• Ability to accept of criticism and deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations

Job Requirements

Qualification

• SKM or equivalent
• No or minimal prior experience in CNC machining
• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Basic knowledge of machining principles
• Basic knowledge of machines operations and tooling
• Eagerness to learn and develop skills in CNC machining
• Willingness to follow instructions and learn from experienced machinists
• Required language(s) : Bahasa Malaysia, English
