Main purpose of job
Operate computer-controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions on metal or plastic work pieces.
Main duties
Manufacturing Operation
<ul>
<li>Set up manual and CNC equipment without supervision</li>
<li>Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed</li>
<li>Ensure all documentation is complete and correct</li>
<li>Utilize production work orders and documents</li>
<li>Follow work instructions and safety regulations at all times</li>
<li>Detect and report defective equipment, materials and/or faulty operations to supervisor</li>
<li>Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Quality Control Management
<ul>
<li>Utilize measuring equipment used in the industry such as caliper’s, micrometer’s, height gage and other measuring equipment needed to complete work</li>
<li>Perform first part inspection and in process inspections</li>
<li>Identify root causes and corrective action for quality problems</li>
<li>Use prescribed procedures to inspect part(s) and product(s) produced to assure compliance to specifications that will eliminate defects, scrap, rework, etc.</li>
<li>Ensure parts meet all Customer Quality Requirements</li>
</ul>
Maintenance and Prevention
<ul>
<li>Maintain equipment and work area on a daily basis in a clean and orderly condition</li>
<li>Maintain equipment and facilities in satisfactory operating condition by providing prescribed systematic inspection procedures</li>
<li>Maintain the preventive maintenance log&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
