Job Description

Position Responsibilities  

1. Demand & Supply Planning

  • Review & Validate Demand Forecast: Collaborate with the sales team to ensure demand projections are accurate and reflect market trends, customer requirements, and business growth plans.
  • Determine Total Supply Requirements: Calculate supply needs based on the validated forecast while considering supplier lead times, constraints, minimum order quantities (MOQ), safety stock, and company inventory policies.
  • Material Requirements Planning (MRP): Execute MRP runs to determine raw material (RM) requirements based on sales forecasts and supply plans, ensuring timely procurement.
  • Purchase Order (PO) Management: Generate, review, and issue POs for finished goods (FG) and raw materials (RM), ensuring suppliers are informed of required delivery schedules and estimated arrival times (ETA).
  • Supplier Coordination: Ensure suppliers adhere to replenishment schedules, addressing potential delays proactively.
  • Supply Plan Adjustments: Modify stock allocations, update replenishment plans, and communicate constraints in case of unforeseen delays, ensuring minimal disruption to Sales.

2. Warehouse Distribution Planning

  • Demand Variation Analysis: Assess historical sales trends and run rates per warehouse to understand demand fluctuations and optimize stock distribution.
  • Optimized Stock Allocation: Allocate stock across warehouses based on weighted demand metrics, factoring in growth trends, upcoming promotions, regional sales performance, and warehouse storage capacities.
  • Inventory Level Monitoring: Maintain optimal stock levels to prevent overstocking and stockouts, adjusting allocations dynamically as needed.
  • Inter-Warehouse Transfers: Manage stock rebalancing between warehouses

3. Expiry Date Monitoring & FEFO/FIFO Compliance

  • Expiry Tracking & Visibility: Maintain a comprehensive tracking system for batch/lot expiration dates to prevent stock write-offs and losses.
  • First-Expired, First-Out (FEFO) Execution: Work closely with warehouse teams to prioritize the dispatch of older inventory, ensuring compliance with FIFO/FEFO principles.
  • Expiry Clearance Strategy: Collaborate with sales and marketing to push short-dated stock through targeted promotions, clearance sales, and customer incentives.

4. Promotion & New Item Planning (NIP) – FMCG

  • New Product Introduction (NPI) Coordination: Work closely with sales, marketing, and suppliers to ensure smooth onboarding of new products, aligning supply plans with launch timelines.
  • Promotional Planning & Execution: Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to forecast demand for promotional activities, ensuring sufficient inventory levels to support campaigns.
  • Stock Reservation for Promotions: Allocate stock strategically for promotional events to prevent shortages and ensure successful execution.
  • Post-Promotion Analysis: Review promotional performance and impact on inventory, making data-driven adjustments to future planning strategies.

5. Reporting & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs

  • Supply Chain Performance Reporting: Generate and analyze weekly/monthly reports to track key metrics and drive continuous improvement.
  • Key Metrics Tracked:
    • Supply Plan Accuracy (%) – Measures adherence to the planned supply schedule.
    • Supplier On-Time Delivery (%) – Tracks supplier reliability and punctuality.
    • Expiring Inventory & Write-offs (%) – Monitors inventory health and obsolescence.
    • Inventory Holding Levels – Evaluates stock levels against working capital constraints.
    • Forecast Accuracy (%) – Compares projected demand vs. actual sales to refine planning accuracy.

6. Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization

  • S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) Implementation: Implement and engage in cross-functional S&OP meetings to align supply plans with overall business objectives and market trends.
  • Supplier & Vendor Collaboration: Develop strong relationships with suppliers to enhance communication, mitigate risks, and negotiate better terms.
  • Inventory Optimization Initiatives: Implement process improvements to reduce waste, improve inventory turnover, and enhance supply chain efficiency.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply planning, demand planning or inventory management, preferably in the FMCG industry (consumer goods manufacturing and distribution) with proven track record in Inventory Management, production planning, forecasting and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills with knowledge of supply planning KPIs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Strategic thinking with attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to manage complexity and willing to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
