Job Title: Bi-lingual Japanese/Korean Cloud Engineer (Compute Specialization) Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Client & Project Overview:
We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our dynamic team in Compute supporting the Google Workspace Support project for our client. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, optimizing cloud computational resources to meet evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Compute Expertise:
Demonstrate a deep understanding of cloud compute engine concepts, including resource management, scalability, and optimization.
Provide technical support and guidance for escalated incidents, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex issues effectively.
Change Management:
Participate in change work product reviews for all changes in the release cycle, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
Identify potential risks and provide recommendations to mitigate operational impacts.
Documentation & Updates:
Coordinate updates to product and service documentation, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
Maintain and enhance technical resources, including runbooks, guides, and operational procedures.
Incident Resolution:
Act as a primary escalation point for technical incidents, providing expertise in troubleshooting and resolution to meet SLAs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze root causes and implement preventative measures.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer Science preferred).
Minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience, with a focus on support operations in relevant technologies.
Experience:
Proven expertise in Linux/Unix-based environments with hands-on experience in advanced troubleshooting, logging, and monitoring.
Experience working in a bilingual support environment (Japanese-English or Korean-English) is mandatory.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure.

Operating Systems & Compute Concepts:
Command-line tools (cp, cat, mv, cd, pwd, grep, vi, ls, chmod, nano, sudo, ping, ssh, netstat, curl, ifconfig, touch) – Advanced
Editors (nano, vim, etc.) – Advanced
Linux/Unix directories, symlinks, partitions, images, file formats, migrations, virtualizations, MGR/GRUB, kernels – Advanced
Cloud Operations & Troubleshooting:
Linux troubleshooting, logging, and monitoring – Advanced
Package management, boot processes, and networking – Advanced
File system and device management – Advanced
Preferred Skills:
Cloud certification such as Google Cloud Professional Cloud Engineer or similar.
Experience with ITIL frameworks and best practices for incident, change, and problem management.
Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written, in English and Japanese/Korean.
Ability to collaborate and build relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders.
