This role acts as a strategic bridge between IT and Business Units, overseeing data-driven programs that enhance the Company’s profitability and drive sustainable growth. The position is accountable for defining the data and AI/ML strategy, shaping system architecture, and translating user requirements into impactful solutions that support organizational goals.Responsibilities: 1. Delivery &amp; Resource Management <ul><li>Lead the development of an integrated information and AI strategy to support business needs and enhance strategic execution.</li><li>Optimize resource utilization, investment efficiency, and delivery timelines for assigned portfolios.</li><li>Assess and mitigate portfolio risks related to performance and delivery. </li></ul>2. Data Governance and Management<ul><li>Implement robust data governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with regulatory standards.</li><li>Lead initiatives in data quality improvement, metadata management, and data lifecycle management.</li></ul>3. Analytics and AI Development<ul><li>Oversee the development and deployment of advanced analytics and AI / GenAI solutions that deliver actionable insights, enhance decision-making and enable process automation.</li><li>Oversee the on-going ad-hoc requests for business insights to support strategic planning, decision making, campaign development and execution</li><li>Lead the development and automation of key business dashboards / reports across the enterprise</li><li>Identify and prioritize AI/ML use cases in collaboration with business stakeholders to drive operational efficiencies and new growth opportunities.</li></ul>4. Center of Excellence for Data and AI<ul><li>Establish and lead a Center of Excellence (CoE) to foster innovation and collaboration in data science, analytics, and AI.</li><li>Lead and Manage Business System Analysis to gather, analyze and document business requirements, translating them into functional specifications and data models for ETL development.</li><li>Lead and Manage Platform and Data Engineering effort in delivering the required data sets to support analytic, digital and operational demands.</li><li>Manage the BAU run of data, analytics &amp; AI platforms, maintaining system to deliver optimal performance and stability to meet SLAs.</li><li>Identify and nurture talent within the IT and data teams, promoting skill development and creating a pipeline of data experts.</li></ul>5. Stakeholder Management <ul><li>Align business demands with value generation and resource capacity, collaborating closely with business unit leaders.</li><li>Build and sustain relationships with senior leaders and managers to deliver consistent, credible solutions.</li><li>Manage key vendor, business partner, and Group IT relationships to enhance delivery flexibility. </li></ul>6. Strategic Planning<ul><li>Define and implement long- and mid-term strategies aligning IT with business goals and portfolio objectives.</li><li>Cultivate a high-performance culture focused on cost-effective, agile, and flexible IT solution delivery.</li><li>Establish policies, standards, and best practices to drive a Center of Excellence for IT solutions.</li></ul>7. People Development &amp; Management<ul><li>Attract, develop, and retain top talent to build sustainable strategic and operational capabilities.</li><li>Set clear goals and provide direction, fostering a culture of learning, development, and high performance.</li><li>Optimize resource planning to maximize team impact and coach employees to strengthen both technical and soft skills.</li><li>Align team performance and individual development with the IT strategic plan.</li></ul>Minimum Requirements: Education: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Minimum of 15 years in IT, Data, Analytics, and AI, with at least 10-12 years in a supervisory or leadership role.</li><li>Proven technical leadership in data platforms, including expertise in ETL frameworks, Informatica, Oracle ExaCC, and Stored Procedures, data modelling to support analytics and operational capabilities.</li></ul>Core Skills:<ul><li>Skilled in leveraging advanced analytics and data science to drive business value, generate insights, and support strategic objectives across distribution, marketing, operations, and other domains.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in deploying and managing AI/GenAI solutions to enhance automation and improve business functions. Familiarity with LLMs such as OpenAI GPT, Meta Llama, Google PaLM and RAG is an advantage.</li><li>Strong background in data governance, particularly within financial services, with experience navigating regulatory requirements from entities such as Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM).</li></ul>Industry Knowledge: <ul><li>Deep understanding of the insurance business operations and sales distribution models is essential.</li></ul>Communication and Leadership:<ul><li>Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with senior leaders, team members, and external stakeholders.</li><li>Strong leadership abilities to inspire, guide, and develop high-performing teams within a complex environment.</li></ul>Build a career with us as we help our customers and the community live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.You must provide all requested information, including Personal Data, to be considered for this career opportunity.
