Job Description
Are you a visionary leader with a passion for shaping cutting-edge IT infrastructure? We are seeking a dynamic Head of ICT Infrastructure to spearhead strategic planning and execution of AirAsia’s airport and network systems. In this role, you will lead transformative initiatives in infrastructure planning, network management, and project delivery while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive operational excellence.
Functional Responsibilities
Airport & Infrastructure Planning:
Manage and coordinate airport planning activities, including design briefs, master planning, and terminal expansions.
Lead internal and external stakeholder meetings to gather inputs for airport and infrastructure projects.
Oversee the preparation of conceptual plans, spatial layouts, 3D visuals, and presentations for discussions with project stakeholders and government authorities.
Manage consultants for the development of new airport projects or scheduled expansions.
Network Management:
Oversee AirAsia's local and global networks, including LANs, WANs, Internet, and Intranet systems.
Review proposals and prepare contracts for network service partners.
Act as the technical escalation point for production issues, including troubleshooting wireless infrastructure and Network Access Control (NAC).
Manage the lifecycle and patching of hardware and software for network equipment.
Project & Team Management
Lead and manage design workshops, coordination meetings, and risk assessments to meet budgetary and project requirements.
Execute authority submissions, contractor appointments, and site management during construction phases.
Oversee the tender process, procurement, contract issuance, and payment approvals.
Lead the Network Delivery and Production Support teams, fostering career growth, employee engagement, and health & morale.
Develop and execute staff coaching, training, and performance reviews.
Provide ongoing visibility into the performance of delivery teams and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Risk, Stakeholder, and Vendor Management
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with team members and senior management.
Engage stakeholders to align project objectives and requirements, ensuring effective communication.
Manage vendor relationships, including resources, escalations, and contract input.
Strategic and Operational Responsibilities
Ensure adherence to architecture standards, risk management protocols, and security policies.
Provide inputs into operational planning cycles, financial management, and business case development.
Drive innovative opportunities for automation, cost savings, and process improvements.
Participate in planning sessions for complex technical issues and provide cost-benefit analyses for solutions.
Reporting & Advisory
Provide updates and advisory support to Group Head, DGCEO, GCEO, and senior management on project progress and risks.
Regularly update leadership on team performance, project timelines, and cost estimates.
Prepare inputs for leadership forums and represent the team in high-level discussions.
Cloud and Data Center Management
Develop and execute cloud and data center strategies.
Ensure robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Lead teams managing cloud services, on-premises infrastructure, and vendor relations.
Optimize performance, security, and cost management.
Job requirement:
Proven credibility as a leader in IT projects, with a strong track record of successful program and project delivery within teams and across stakeholders.
Strong negotiation skills to resolve roadblocks, foster win-win solutions, and drive effective decision-making.
Qualifications:
Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.
Relevant certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Architect, Certified Data Centre Design Professional (CDCDP®), Certified Data Centre Management Professional (CDCMP®), TOGAF, CCDP, or CCNP.
Experience:
At least 15 years in IT server infrastructure design.
At least 10 years in Linux and/or Microsoft operating systems, including Active Directory, NTFS permissions, DNS, DHCP, OS security, Hyper-V, VMware, MS Exchange, and Linux.
At least 7 years in Cloud (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) across multiple public cloud vendors.
At least 5 years in high transaction volume, high availability, mission-critical systems.
At least 5 years of hands-on network administration and engineering experience.
Familiarity with cloud network architecture, modules, and configuration (Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Alibaba).
Strong technical expertise in networking and troubleshooting, including exposure to IT security, architecture reviews, and handling/mitigating malware and virus-related attacks.
Experience with log analysis and hands-on investigation.
Willingness to travel to airports and corporate sites where AirAsia and its subsidiaries operate.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with Bahasa Malaysia or additional languages being an advantage.
Self-motivated, quick learner, team player, and capable of multitasking and engaging with users across all levels.
