Job Purpose:
To support the sales team by generating leads, preparing quotations, maintaining client relationships, and coordinating with operations to ensure smooth freight service delivery across sea, air, land, and customs services.
Key Responsibilities:
<ol>
<li>Sales &amp; Customer Engagement</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>⁠ ⁠Respond to inquiries and provide timely quotations for import/export via sea, air, and land.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Follow up on quotations to convert leads into confirmed shipments.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Maintain regular contact with customers to build relationships and upsell services.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate freight solutions.</li>
</ul>
<ol>
<li>Documentation &amp; Coordination</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>⁠ ⁠Prepare and manage sales-related documentation: quotation, service agreement, shipping instruction forms, etc.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Coordinate with operations and customer service teams to ensure shipment execution.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Ensure all client details, rates, and SOPs are updated in the system.</li>
</ul>
<ol>
<li>Agent &amp; Tradelane Development</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>⁠ ⁠Support in developing tradelanes by reaching out to overseas agents for mutual business.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Track and follow up with overseas agents for cargo nominations or opportunities.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Assist in building and updating a database of overseas partners.</li>
</ul>
<ol>
<li>Sales Administration &amp; Reporting</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>⁠ ⁠Maintain accurate sales records and client database (CRM).</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Assist in compiling sales reports, pipeline tracking, and monthly sales reviews.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Monitor and update internal rate sheet and costing templates.</li>
</ul>
<ol>
<li>Market &amp; Competitor Monitoring</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>⁠ ⁠Research market rates, competitor offerings, and customer trends.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Gather feedback from customers for service improvements.</li>
</ul>
Tradelane Developer
To develop, manage, and grow specific international trade routes by building partnerships with overseas agents and targeting import/export customers, contributing to revenue growth and network expansion.
Key Responsibilities:

<li>Tradelane Development</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>⁠ ⁠Identify and develop core tradelanes (e.g. China–Malaysia, Europe–Malaysia, US–Malaysia).</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Conduct market research to identify trends, potential clients, and key partner countries.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Build relationships with overseas freight agents, consolidators, and networks.</li>
</ul>
<ol>
<li>Agent Networking &amp; Management</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>⁠ ⁠Source, evaluate, and onboard overseas agents for targeted tradelanes.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Maintain regular communication and collaboration with agents on routing, pricing, and sales leads.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Negotiate agent contracts and mutual business agreements (MBAs).</li>
</ul>
<ol>
<li>Sales Collaboration</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>⁠ ⁠Work closely with the sales team to push tradelane-focused sales strategies.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Support with tradelane-specific RFQs, costing, and quotation generation.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Jointly visit or call clients to promote tradelane strengths.</li>
</ul>
<ol>
<li>Trade Lane Marketing</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>⁠ ⁠Prepare tradelane sales kits (route strengths, transit time, partner profile, etc.).</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Coordinate with marketing for promotional materials and digital campaigns.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Conduct tradelane presentations to internal teams and potential clients.</li>
</ul>
<ol>
<li>Performance Monitoring</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>⁠ ⁠Track and analyze tradelane performance (volume, revenue, profit margin).</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Report monthly progress, challenges, and action plans to management.</li>
<li>⁠ ⁠Adjust strategy based on results and market changes.</li>
</ul>
