Job Description

Role Overview Experienced SAP Project Manager to lead a strategic technical refresh initiative and spearhead the roadmap planning from SAP ECC ver 6.0 EHP5 to EHP8, upgrading the servers Operating System & Database from on-prem to Cloud platform. This role is critical as involves many source systems integration for the bank and will be delivered onsite in close collaboration with the Bank’s IT and business teams. Key Responsibilities · Lead and manage the technical refresh assessment of the current SAP ECC6 environment. · Develop and drive the strategic roadmap for SAP Tech Refresh and Upgrade. · Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external vendors to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines. · Oversee project planning, risk management, resource allocation, and reporting. · Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagements to gather requirements and present transformation strategies. · Ensure compliance with the Bank’s governance, security, and regulatory standards. · Provide leadership and guidance to technical teams and ensure delivery excellence. Required Qualifications · Minimum 10 years of SAP project management experience, with proven delivery of large-scale SAP programs. · Strong understanding of SAP ECC6 architecture, migration paths and transformation methodologies. · Experience in technical refresh projects including infrastructure, OS, and database upgrades and Cloud platform. · Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, especially with C-level and senior IT leadership. · PMP or equivalent project management certification is preferred. · Prior experience in banking or financial services industry is a strong advantage. Required Soft Skills · Leadership & Influence: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across business and IT. · Strategic Thinking: Capable of seeing the big picture and aligning technical plans with business goals. · Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly. · Problem Solving: Proactive in identifying risks and resolving issues with a solution-oriented mindset. · Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities. · Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams and external partners. · Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in managing expectations and building trust with senior leadership. Team Collaboration Details · Collaborate closely with the Bank’s internal IT and transformation teams, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and compliance standards. · Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between infrastructure, application, and business teams to ensure seamless execution of the technical refresh and roadmap planning. · Participate in joint governance and steering committee meetings to provide updates, manage risks, and align on key decisions. Reporting Structure · The SAP Project Manager will report to Group Information Technology for day-to-day project execution and governance. · Expected to provide weekly status updates, risk logs, and milestone tracking to all parties involved. Escalation Process · Primary escalation point: SAP Upgrade Project team for any project delivery, timeline, or scope-related issues. · All escalations must be documented and raised through formal channels (email or governance meetings), with a clear summary of the issue, impact, and proposed resolution. · Critical issues will be escalated to the joint steering committee for decision-making and resolution within agreed SLA timelines. Risk Management Details · Establish and maintain a comprehensive risk register to track and monitor project risks across technical, operational, and strategic domains. · Conduct regular risk assessments and reviews with stakeholders to identify emerging risks and mitigation strategies. · Implement early warning indicators and escalation thresholds to proactively manage delivery risks. · Ensure risk ownership is clearly assigned across project teams and stakeholders. · Provide monthly risk reports to the governance committee, highlighting critical risks, mitigation actions, and residual exposure. · Align risk management practices with the Bank’s internal governance and compliance frameworks.
