Introduction to team

Travel Partnerships and Media helps partners deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences, driving growth for them and the EG marketplace through competitive supply, a valued advertising and travel media network, and affiliate solutions.

The Partner Growth & Agility, Competitiveness Agility Team primary responsibility is to ensure that Expedia Group’s hotels, and all accommodations types in our high demand APAC markets have great rates and room types available for the Expedia Group travelers (including travelers from B2B Demand Partners) at all times.

The Partner Growth & Agility, Competitiveness Agility Team will also continuously work with Expedia Group’s hotel and accommodation partners to help them improve their end-to-end competitive position taking the most from their participation in the Expedia marketplace.

You will work as part of a team, with the primary goal of improving the conversion rate for our high-demand markets. You will closely work in collaboration with other in-market account management teams to ensure the right and competitive conditions across high demand markets and ultimately provide the best product on EG-branded sites as well as those of our B2B Demand partners.

In this role, you will:

  • This is a predominantly phone-based role, and you will be reaching out to a portfolio of existing accommodation partners each day. You will closely work with these hotel partners to:
  • Optimize rate and availability competitiveness on the Expedia platform to increase customer conversion
  • Secure additional lodging rates and availability information over high demand and compression periods to satisfy customers’ pressing needs
  • Coordinate with other account management teams to secure an aligned and effective level of competitiveness across high-demand Asia Pacific markets
  • Educate hotel partners on the self-service features available on Expedia Partner Central to make them independent in managing all the core aspects of our marketplace and make the mutual business more sustainable over the partners’ lifecycle
  • Re-establish core fundamentals to re-engage with dormant hotel partners
  • Take time to shop our sites as a traveler would to identify issues that may not have been identified by our automated shopping tools and help to identify additional root causes of uncompetitiveness
  • Cross collaborate with internal stakeholders to execute business initiatives
  • Work closely with a variety of internal teams to drive market strategy
  • Provide coaching to colleagues (Associate Account Managers) and peers on best practices and workflow methodologies

Job Requirements

Experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field; or Equivalent related professional experience
  • Native proficiency in Japanese or Korean Language
  • Business-level proficiency in English
  • 4+ years of experience in hotel sales/revenue management, account management, inside sales or business development preferred
  • Able to work independently as well as be a strong team worker, ensuring the whole team wins
  • Demonstrate ability to work based on a variety targets, goals and/or strategic objectives set by the leadership team
  • Appetite for innovative technology, fast-changing business environment, robust data driven analysis
  • Presents ideas and directives clearly and persuasively; actively listens when spoken/presented to
  • Ability to effectively communicate to various levels and through a variety of communication channels
