Job Description

Key Areas of Responsibilities

Your tasks will vary depending on the company’s direction at that moment in time; however, as a Supply Chain Specialist you’ll typically be handling:

1. Procurement and Logistics

● Oversee end-to-end process, from sourcing to distribution.

● Managing and coordinating the movement of all inventory items between all stakeholders.

● Work closely with the R & D and Operations department for procuring and consolidating products, including ingredients, equipment and packaging. 

● Source and negotiate contract terms with suppliers for optimal pricing.

● Ensuring procurement and logistics are in compliance with JAKIM and MOH guidelines.

● Initiate cost saving methods for improved profitability & efficiency

● Monitor, forecast and manage procurement costs, maintaining healthy warehouse stock levels within budget constraints. 

● Establish and maintain Procurement SOP & Price Master List

● Monitor department’s additional income, such as cost savings and rebates. 

● Ensure procurement aligns with SOPs, policies and required policy standards. 

● Continuously fine tune procurement processes, ensuring healthy supply chain metrics and department objectives are consistently achieved.

● Strategize and implement guidelines or processes to mitigate any risk due to unforeseen circumstances. 

● Enhance vendor management and analyse data for performance enhancement.

● Play a role in setting the benchmark of the company’s business and supply chain processes.

2. HALAL Documentations

● To communicate with suppliers ensuring products are HALAL certified with supporting certification provided. 

● Evaluating the documents submitted by the suppliers for Islamic rules and requirements related to HALAL Certification

● Ensuring all HALAL certificates for each inventory item are monitored and up to date.

● To assist other departments in maintaining the Shariah compliance and issues in Shariah for all inventory items. 

● To provide timely and effective responses to team members concerning certification queries related to Shariah. 

Job Requirements


Qualifications / Experiences / Skills 

● Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or any related field. 

● 0 - 3 years of working experience. 

● Strong analytical and observation skills. Possess the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. 

● Good communication and negotiation skills. 

● Detail-oriented approach.

● Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, capable of independent judgement to make informed decisions in response to evolving situations or challenges.

● Strong team player, willingness to learn and receive all kinds of feedback, with a proactive attitude.

● Observe situations from both a micro and macro perspective.

● Strong problem solving skills, able to identify challenges and implement solutions. 

● Proficient in Microsft Excel and Word.

● Prior experience in any F&B related industry will be an added advantage.
