About the role

  • Work Location    : 1Powerhouse, PJ (5mins walk from MRT Bandar Utama)
  • Working Hour     : 12pm - 9pm 
  • Reporting Line    : Regulatory Manager - Europe

 

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage supplier documentation and day-to-day regulatory queries and information fulfillment from both internal and external stakeholders in relation to packaging used within the Region of Europe. This role requires close partnership with Regulatory Scientific Affairs, Category Technologist, Procurement, Quality, and Account Managers. As a vital enabler of business growth, this role provides a competitive advantage by guaranteeing that customer-facing information is accurate, consistent, and efficient—ensuring precision from the start. Additionally, it safeguards the integrity of data related to the finished products we produce.

 

 

Key responsibilities

  • Support the efficient and timely execution of packaging requests.
  • Manage specification approvals for all packaging materials.
  • Perform administrative duties within defined guidelines.
  • Ensure that all packaging materials comply with EU Regulations with a particular focus on Food Contact materials.
  • Challenge suppliers and ensure requests for information/ food safety questions are resolved/ answered promptly within the critical path timescales.
  • Check and approve relevant Packaging specifications for legality and accuracy and ensuring correct specs enter the business and ensure raw material specifications cover the ever- changing customer and business technical requirements.
  • Support site audits to cover traceability of incoming packaging materials.
  • Create and maintain various documentation such as technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate and develop effective working relationships between internal (RDA, QA, Operations, Procurement & Commercial) & external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for managing and meeting individual and overall department Key Performance Indicators.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous excellence initiatives.
  • Remain fully flexible to meet business requirements.

 

Qualifications and skills

  • Degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or a related discipline.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in the food packaging industry within Regulatory, Quality Assurance, Production, or R&D; knowledge of European Packaging Legislation is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong understanding of the food industry, with direct experience in European Packaging Legislation considered beneficial.
  • Comfortable working European shift hours and providing support during public holidays; flexibility and reliability are essential for cross-time-zone collaboration and peak periods.
  • Experience with SAP, Optiva, Power BI, and Salesforce systems is an advantage.
  • This is a desk-based role focused on documentation management and customer relations via virtual platforms; precision in handling and maintaining documentation is crucial for regulatory compliance and effective communication.
