Job Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Linux and Unix Platforms team at MMC. This role will be based in Kuala Lumpur Office, Malaysia. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Specialist - Systems Administration is an individual contributor role in Information Technology offering career development in operating system administration and hardware support across a diverse environment including Oracle Linux, Redhat Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, and public cloud servers.

You will collaborate closely with the Linux and Unix Platforms team as well as other Platform Teams such as Wintel, Citrix, CyberOps, CloudOps, VMWare, Security, and PMO.

We will count on you to:

  • Plan, install, configure, support, and optimize Linux systems, including Oracle Linux 8/9 and Redhat Linux 8/9.
  • Leverage advanced scripting skills to develop server automation solutions using Ansible or Oracle Linux Automation Manager, with programming experience in Shell, Terraform, Perl, or Python.
  • Administer and monitor AWS environments, developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for AMI creation, maintenance, and deployment using SOE/MOE, including CIS benchmarking, security updates, and patching.
  • Design and implement high-availability, fault-tolerant system-to-system interconnectivity, including domain authentication and various services, while working with clustering solutions such as Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM).
  • Manage technical initiatives and collaborate with onshore and offshore business groups, leading or participating in internal projects while ensuring compliance with corporate processes and ITIL best practices.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in IT.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Oracle Linux 8/9 and Redhat Linux 8/9.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Linux Manager and Oracle Linux Automation Manager.
  • Strong experience in Shell scripting.
  • Skilled in administration and monitoring of AWS environments, including installations, patches, upgrades, capacity planning, and performance tuning for Oracle Linux, Solaris LDOMs/Containers, and HP-UX.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for AMI creation and deployment, including CIS benchmarking and security patching.
  • Expertise in OVM SPARC administration, LDOM/Containers migration, and zpools.
  • Familiarity with Ansible Tower and advanced shell scripting.
  • Solid understanding of SAN/NAS administration with technologies like EMC, Netapp, and Infinidat on Solaris.
