In this role, you will conduct negotiations for strategic sourcing events using cost modeling and other analytical techniques to drive the negotiation process and coordinate quarterly negotiations / renewals into bundled negotiation. Also, you will partner with cross-functional teams to enable Micron to meet business plan requirements by optimizing cost structure, ensuring quality standards, and securing a reliable supply. 

Job Description 

  • Facilitate Technical Collaboration with Collaborators 

  • Understand technical market landscape and supplier capabilities and roadmaps 

  • Facilitate co-development activities, and technical roadmap collaboration with suppliers 

  • Coordinate with supplier safety issues (e.g. process hazards, maintenance procedures) 

  • Lead Procurement Sourcing Strategies (including creation through collaborator input, communication, and execution) 

  • Get along with Micron and Supplier executives 

  • Source and Select Suppliers to Meet Technical and Cost Requirements 

  • Drive sourcing requirements and supplier selection through decision matrix in support of technology development, cost reduction, and quality improvement efforts 

  • Partner with collaborators to assess Supply Chain risk for new sources 

  • Provide category-level analysis to influence sourcing decisions and ensure supplier meets the needs of customer, including Total Cost of Ownership, quality, performance and delivery requirements 

  • Initiate and negotiate contracts to completion for new suppliers 

  • Partner in Negotiation Processes to Enable Future Cost Structures 

  • Partner with collaborators on negotiations with suppliers for strategic sourcing/RFQ events 

  • Apply should / could cost modeling and other analytical techniques to drive negotiation process 

  • Ensure all new business awards and opportunities are coordinated to bring to bear global business volume 

  • Negotiate upfront Total Cost of Ownership commitments for time-based reductions 

  • Partner with internal collaborators to ensure spares contracts support equipment uptime and cost objectives. 

  • Identify and Implement Supplier-Related Savings Levers 

  • Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements across categories into negotiations 

  • Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal setting 

  • Provide market intelligence and price trends to relevant internal collaborators on a disciplined schedule 

  • Serve as the center of knowledge and share knowledge with key collaborators and members of the category teams to enable more effective planning, forecasting and execution 

  • Ensure Supplier Performance Management 

  • Partner with Supplier Managers and Stakeholders to build comprehensive view of supplier performance 

  • Assist Supplier Managers in relaying site-specific priorities to supplier 

  • Collaborate internally to drive and develop key performance measures/metrics and monitor supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement 

  • Lead in coordinating and delivering on supplier events, such as Quarterly Business Reviews, Annual Supplier Evaluations, and Executive Review Meetings 

 

Requirement: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline. 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience within semiconductor manufacturing environments!

  • 3 years of experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, or category management, preferably for capital equipment or complex technical commodities!

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross‑functional teams, with strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborator management skills. 

  • Proven strength in complex problem‑solving, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and drive resolution in challenging situations. 

  • Demonstrated and shown negotiation capabilities, with a strong background in supplier relationship management, including commercial negotiations, performance management, and long‑term strategic partnership development.
