Pertama Partners started because I kept seeing the same problem across Southeast Asia: companies wanted to adopt AI, but every solution on the market was either a million-dollar enterprise platform or a YouTube tutorial. Nothing in between.&nbsp;

I'd spent years working with teams across Malaysia, Singapore, China, and beyond, and the pattern was always the same. Leaders knew AI mattered. Their teams were curious. But nobody could tell them where to start that didn't involve a six-month consulting engagement or a tool they'd abandon after two weeks.&nbsp;&nbsp;

So I built Pertama Partners to fill that gap. We're a principal-led AI training and advisory firm. That means the person who sells the engagement is the same person who delivers it. No junior associates running your workshop from a slide deck they didn't write.

We work with mid-market enterprises across eight Southeast Asian markets. We train their teams, audit their workflows, and implement AI solutions that actually stick. The focus is always practical: which three tools matter for your team, how to chain them into a workflow, and how to measure whether it's working.

The name "Pertama" means "first" in Malay. It's a reminder of what we tell every client: start with one team, one workflow, one tool. Get that right first. Then scale.

There are no status meetings that could have been an email. Our daily stand-ups are 15 minutes. Everyone shares what they're working on, what's blocking them, and what they need. Then we get back to work.&nbsp;

Every week, the founder runs a hands-on AI training session, not a lecture. You'll open a laptop, learn a new tool or workflow, and use it in your actual work the same day. By the end of summer, you'll have practical experience with tools that most people only read about.&nbsp;

We're remote first, with one or two days per week together in KL. When we're remote, we trust you to manage your own time. We measure output, not hours logged. When we're in person, we use the time for the things that are better face-to-face: brainstorming, creative reviews, and the conversations that don't happen over Slack.&nbsp;

We give feedback directly and often. If something isn't working, you'll hear about it on the same day, not in the monthly review. We expect the same from you. If you think we're doing something wrong, say so.&nbsp;

This is a small team. There's nowhere to hide, and there's no one to take credit for your work. What you produce is visible to everyone, including the CEO. That's the trade-off: more accountability, but also more recognition and more learning than you get at a company 10 times our size.&nbsp;

<h2>ROLE 1: AI DIGITAL MEDIA INTERN</h2>
Your mission: Launch and grow the founder's TikTok account.
What you'll do:
<ul>
<li>Develop and execute a TikTok content strategy for the Pertama Partners founder</li>
<li>Plan, shoot, and edit short-form videos (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts)</li>
<li>Research trending formats, sounds, and hooks relevant to AI, business, and tech audiences</li>
<li>Build a content calendar and maintain a consistent posting schedule</li>
<li>Use AI tools to accelerate your workflow: scripting, captioning, thumbnail generation, trend analysis</li>
<li>Track performance metrics and iterate based on data</li>
<li>Repurpose podcast appearances and blog content into short-form video clips</li>
</ul>
You must have:
<ul>
<li>A personal TikTok account with 5,000+ followers</li>
<li>Demonstrated understanding of media creation workflows: ideation, scripting, shooting, editing, publishing</li>
<li>AI-native mindset: you already use AI tools (ChatGPT, CapCut AI, Runway, etc.) in your creative process</li>
<li>Strong visual storytelling instincts</li>
</ul>
<h2>ROLE 2: AI DIGITAL OUTREACH INTERN</h2>
Your mission: Get Pertama Partners featured in publications and podcasts that matter.
What you'll do:
<ul>
<li>Scan daily journalist queries on platforms like MentionMatch and HARO, then draft expert commentary responses</li>
<li>Pitch journalists and editors at business, tech, and AI publications for guest posts and expert quotes</li>
<li>Research and pitch podcast hosts to book guest appearances for our founder</li>
<li>Build and maintain target lists: 50+ publications and 30+ relevant podcasts</li>
<li>Use AI tools to research, draft pitches, analyze opportunities, and manage follow-ups</li>
<li>Track all outreach activity: pitches sent, responses, placements, live backlinks</li>
<li>Prepare podcast briefing docs and talking points before recordings</li>
</ul>
You must have:
<ul>
<li>Exceptional English writing skills (this role is 80% writing)</li>
<li>Understanding of basic AI tools and a desire to go deeper</li>
<li>AI-native mindset: you see AI as a workflow accelerator, not a novelty</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills for managing dozens of simultaneous pitches and deadlines</li>
</ul>
<h2>ROLE 3: AI CONTENT &amp; SEO INTERN</h2>
Your mission: Create the content that powers everything else.
What you'll do:
<ul>
<li>Write blog posts, LinkedIn content, and website copy for Pertama Partners</li>
<li>Repurpose podcast episodes into written articles, key takeaway posts, and social content</li>
<li>Optimize existing website pages for SEO (meta descriptions, internal linking, keyword targeting)</li>
<li>Draft LinkedIn posts for the founder's personal brand</li>
<li>Use AI tools to research topics, generate first drafts, and optimize content for search</li>
<li>Coordinate with the outreach and media interns to align content across all channels</li>
</ul>
You must have:
<ul>
<li>Strong English writing skills with an ability to write in a professional but approachable tone</li>
<li>Understanding of basic AI tools and a desire to go deeper</li>
<li>AI-native mindset: you already use AI to research, outline, and draft content</li>
<li>Interest in SEO, content marketing, or digital strategy</li>
<li>Ability to turn complex AI/business topics into clear, readable content</li>
</ul>
<h2>COMPENSATION AND STRUCTURE:</h2>
<ul>
<li>Base: RM800/month</li>
<li>Performance bonus: Up to RM2,500/month based on targets hit</li>
<li>Duration: 3 months per cycle</li>
<li>Setup: Remote-first with 1-2 days per week in KL office</li>
