Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-focused BIM Technician to support our theming team. This role is responsible for producing accurate and well-structured Revit models, drawings, and digital documentation that translate creative concepts into buildable technical information.
As a BIM Technician, you will work closely with designers, engineers, and fabricators to ensure that themed elements are modelled clearly and correctly, supporting smooth fabrication, coordination, and on-site delivery.
The Person:
BIM Production
<ul>
<li>Build and maintain detailed Revit models for themed environments, props, show sets, sculpted elements, and architectural interfaces.</li>
<li>Develop families, components, and structured model content suitable for fabrication and construction.</li>
</ul>
Documentation
<ul>
<li>Produce high-quality documentation including plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and details directly from BIM models.</li>
<li>Ensure drawings follow company standards, naming conventions, and project workflows.</li>
</ul>
Theming Integration
<ul>
<li>Model irregular or creative geometry based on concept sketches, artwork, or designer input.</li>
<li>Apply technical judgement to ensure themed elements are buildable and compatible with structural/MEP systems.</li>
</ul>
Digital Coordination Support
<ul>
<li>Assist senior BIM staff and coordinators with clash detection processes (Navisworks or equivalent).</li>
<li>Organise model data, shared coordinates, and file structures in accordance with project requirements.</li>
</ul>
Collaboration
<ul>
<li>Work alongside concept artists, 3D modellers, engineers, and project managers to refine models and ensure design intent is preserved.</li>
<li>Incorporate design updates, markups, and feedback efficiently into models and drawings.</li>
</ul>
On-Site Support
<ul>
<li>Provide updated digital drawings and model exports for fabrication teams when required.</li>
<li>Assist in revising documentation during installation or construction stages.</li>
</ul>
How This Role Differs From Generic BIM Technician Roles
Working in themed entertainment means producing BIM models that capture both artistry and technical feasibility. Unlike traditional architectural BIM work, this role involves:

<li>Modelling custom, sculpted, or highly irregular geometry.</li>
<li>Supporting the translation of artistic ideas into real-world fabrication packages.</li>
<li>Working on unique, story-driven environments rather than conventional buildings.</li>
<li>Creating bespoke Revit families for themed elements, rockwork, set pieces, props, and scenic features.</li>
<li>Collaborating with creatives as much as engineers and builders.</li>
</ul>
