The global Controllers organization is a team of 300+ globally.The Impact: This position supports the EMEA Controllers team locally to ensure internal and external reporting is timely reported and in compliance with local statutory requirements. This position also supports the Associate Director – Financial Accounting, in partnering locally with business and operations to ensure that governance and internal controls are adhered to, driving operational excellence.What’s in it for you:<ul><li>Gain exposure across the S&amp;P Global organization in Germany and other jurisdictions at a time of change</li><li>Contribute to decision making related to the growth strategy of the business.</li><li>Opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of current processes and to create efficiencies related to the financial close processes.</li><li>Opportunity to make a meaningful and impactful change, whilst leveraging technology</li></ul> Responsibilities:<ul><li>Analyze key balance sheet and P&amp;L accounts; prepare and post associated journals.</li><li>Support month-end processes, including journal preparation and balance sheet reconciliations.</li><li>Prepare and post payroll journals, reconciliations, including necessary accruals.</li></ul></div><ul><li>Allocate monthly intercompany cross charges related to Payroll Benefits.</li><li>Analyze monthly financial reports and present findings to the board quarterly.</li><li>Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.</li><li>Prepare financial statements for legal entities</li><li>Liaise with external auditors for timely completion of statutory audits.</li><li>Ensure timely submission of financial and non-financial information to local authorities.</li><li>Support preparation of tax returns and related accounting workflows.</li><li>Assist the German Controller with mergers, acquisitions, and legal entity restructuring.</li><li>Support process improvement projects by identifying and implementing best practices.</li></ul>What We’re Looking For: An individual with a high attention to detail, who is well organized. Someone with strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
