Job Description

Our goals - Your path

  • To conduct R&D activities in field of cementitious and non- cementitious materials as well as to provide support on Quality Control function.
  • Assist on develop new products development, as innovation project, product efficiency, including processing and test method.
  • Strictly follow PCP procedures in SIP for product development and optimization projects
  • Review and improve the application of new and current raw materials; and to eliminate single source and improve existing products.
  • Explore alternative raw materials and additives that offer cost advantages without compromising product performance or quality. Conduct thorough cost-benefit analyses to assess the economic feasibility of using different materials and select options that provide the greatest cost savings. Ensure that Raw Material Specifications (RMS) are prepared for any new raw material, RMS are updated for any approved new source of an existing raw material and that all RMS are current and any changes or additions are distributed to all concerned parties.
  • Proactively initiate and follow up all R&D activities upon stakeholder request.
  • Ensure that Bills of Material are updated for any change to raw materials or formulations relating to manufactured products.
  • Provide support on Quality Control function, train QC technicians on test method/ application.
  • Provide relevant technical support to Sales / Technical Service, Procurement and Production / Operation Department.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and 5S practices in the laboratory.
  • Manage all R&D and lab equipment and ensure all items are well maintained, utilized in proper manner.
  • Monitor and update project progress and relevant report to immediate superior and propose suitable alternative for continuous improvement.
  • Attention on ISO Documentations (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001) and up to date all the time.

Your expertise - Our strength

  • Min. Diploma holder in Chemistry, Engineering (Chemical) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years exposure and hands-on experience relevant on laboratory.
  • Preferably Executives specializing in Chemistry or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in adhesives/building materials laboratory
  • Laboratory testing skill. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player with the ability to support the team and work independently
  • Able to communicate to both technical and non-technical people.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Knowledge in computer and data processing for instance Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Positive attitude and always seek for better improvement.
  • Able to travel when required.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English, Bahasa Malaysia and / or Mandarin would be advantageous.
